bwell Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Hey, thanks, Russ, and yes, your work on your Fuego inspired me to do mine. I was happy with it already, but the supertuning with Orange seals, the Smoooth drag, and the 4 bearing Zillion handle all come together to make it my favorite reel. Paired up with a 7' med action Avid, and it's a pretty sweet combo. I like your new one, too! How is that Fuego with light baits? I have been thinking about picking up another reel that can handle light baits well. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted October 19, 2010 Super User Posted October 19, 2010 I can get pretty good distance with stuff in the 1/8th oz range, but it can launch 1/4 oz into orbit! The one thing I didn't do, is go with the Hyper Long Cast Spool, which would have made the lightest stuff even easier, but I'm happy with it as it is. Ps- I should've mentioned it's spooled with 40lb Samurai Braid. Friggin' awesome! Quote
RussBert Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 How is that Fuego with light baits? I have been thinking about picking up another reel that can handle light baits well. My Fuego's are pretty jacked up, but I can toss a Pro-Senko on a 1/0 EWG hook 60' or-so. That Fuego is mounted on a LTB 7' "Teaser" rod and spooled with 12# Yo-Zuri Ultra-Soft. For a most-excellent reel that can cast light baits extremely well right out-of-the-box, look at the Daiwa SOL. They are available for about $160 shipped right now on ebay. Killer deal. My Sol's on an LTB 6'8" M/XF that is well suited to light baits Quote

Looks good 8-) I really like my Fuego's and find that they get fished with about 75% of the time. They are pretty much sooped up TDZ's now One's on that LTB 7' M/F and the other's on a Powell 6'9" H/XF Quote
Super User Shane J Posted October 20, 2010 Super User Posted October 20, 2010 Yeah, we re-used the stock drag star after some machining and polishing. Quote

Ima Bass Ninja Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 1 of my set-ups,not a high dollar rig but effective. Daiwa Tierra rod matched with a Daiwa procaster reel( modified handle and drag star). Guess i'm just a sucker for a good value $75 for both brand new Quote
Super User Shane J Posted October 20, 2010 Super User Posted October 20, 2010 Right on, ninja. Those Sexy Shad spinnerbaits are killer. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted October 20, 2010 Super User Posted October 20, 2010 Let's keep this about showing off gear guys. Quote
endless Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Here is what I got. I was bored been off today due to rain so that I would take a few pics of gear. From left to right- BPS Micro Lite Elite 5' combo, GM Tournament 6'6 M combo, Pflueger Supreme 7' M combo, Pflueger President XT with 7' M-F Browning Citori, BPS Extreme 6'6 M-F combo, BPS PQ 6'6 MH-F combo, and BPS CL 7' MH-F combo. The one pic is of my car and jon boat. I just got the trailer not to long ago from father n law and we installed a hitch and trailer light plug to car. So no more carrying the boat on top of car. Boogey Man Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The pics not great but this is an Okuma Serrano I added to the collection yesterday. Got to use it the first time today and really liked it. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted October 21, 2010 Author Super User Posted October 21, 2010 I like that Okuma. IMO it has some daiwa-esque lines 8-) Quote
Boogey Man Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I like that Okuma.IMO it has some daiwa-esque lines 8-) Thanks. Tackletour.com gave it a pretty good rating http://www.tackletour.com/reviewokumaserrano.html Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted October 21, 2010 Author Super User Posted October 21, 2010 How do you like the gearing on it? It says 26 ipt and I usually prefer 28 and above. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted October 21, 2010 Author Super User Posted October 21, 2010 At the lake today. Different variations of the photo, but they all have the guide which caught water in it and sealed it Quote
Boogey Man Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 How do you like the gearing on it? It says 26 ipt and I usually prefer 28 and above. It's plenty fast enough for me. I have a couple of Citica 200E's, the retrieve on them is 27 IPT so one inch less is no big deal. Quote
VolFan Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 With all these pictures of guys' gear, I figure Brett Favre will throw in here sometime too, Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted October 25, 2010 Super User Posted October 25, 2010 Looks like you are like me, I like my stuff to match. Easier to transition from one rig to the next. NICE RIGS!!!! Quote
OHIO Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 How are you likin the Vendetta's? I love the feel of mine, but the reel always comes loose on the hookset. Quote
L a r r y Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 TY TY....I've been a fan of AG for yearrrrssss. I still have my fathers old Ambassadeur round reels, that I've cleaned up and have sitting in the top of my closet. I LOVE my Vendettas!!!! I've horsed some nice 3's out of some thick hydrilla on 12lb mono and they've held up very very well. I've noticed I've had to snug the lock down, and give it another 1/3 to 1/4 turn to make sure that it stays seated, and I've had zero issues with it coming lose as you have had with yours. Quote
philsoreel Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 How are you likin the Vendetta's?I love the feel of mine, but the reel always comes loose on the hookset. Try taking your reel off and loosening up the seat all the way. Wrap a little bit of teflon tape around the threads then put the reel back on. That should take care of your problem. Teflon tape can be bought at Lowe's, Ace, Home Depot, Marvin's...your local hardware store. Just tell them you need teflon tape for plumbing. 1/2in wide should suffice. Quote
Iowa Matt Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Here is the most recent pic I have of my most used bass rods. The lineup has been added to slightly in the six months since I took the pic. My favorite new addition for this year is also not in the pic........will try to add it later. Its a Loomis SWBR904 with a Calcutta 200TEDC that I use for throwing mostly Spro BBZ1 Jrs. GL2/Calcutta 50 (small cranks/spinnerbaits), E21/CiticaE (larger cranks), St. Croix LTB Dropshot/Core50 (minnowbaits/topwaters/shakeyheads), Cumara/CuradoE (football jigs), Cumara/Stradic CI4 (dropshot), St. Croix Legend Elite/SustainFE (soft swimbaits), St. Croix LTB Dropshot/StradicFI (Shakeyheads), St. Croix LTW/StradicMgFB (small jigs) Matt Quote
