midnighthrasher Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Does anyone have any experience with Sufix 832? I need to re-spool a couple rods and I am thinking of changing from power pro to sufix 832. Thanks Quote
0119 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Im unimpressed so far. Have used it 3 or 4 times a week for a month. It retains its color a little longer than other braids. Its stiff, reminds me of Fireline. Knots well. I read it would sink better than performance braid, I notice no difference. It is much quieter through the guides. But most of all using a set up(Stradic CI4 4000/Cumara 7'2"), I had performance braid of the same size on, I have much less casting distance with 832. Very stiff. Im gonna transfer it to a baitcaster and see if it performs better. Quote
midnighthrasher Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Ive been using powerpro for 5yrs now. I think ill give it a try. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 5, 2011 Super User Posted February 5, 2011 Ive been using powerpro for 5yrs now. I think ill give it a try. It's good to experiment with different types of equipment because each person's perspective is usually different than others. Hope it does you good. Quote
Fat-G Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I really like the 832. I've used PP for way too long and love the heck out of it, but I think I like the 832 more. It's a little light colored though, just get a Vicious Braid Dye marker. Quote

piscicidal Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I really like it so far. It is a bit stiff, but it limbers up after awhile. I think I get a little better casting distance with the 832 and maybe a little easier to cast into the wind. It does retain color better than PP also. I've only used it on baitcasters... Quote
Super User senile1 Posted February 7, 2011 Super User Posted February 7, 2011 I've seen the 832 but I've been very satisfied with Sufix Performance braid so I haven't had a reason to try it. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 The 832 will be stiff at first, but after a about 30 minutes of fishing, it will limber up and become a great braided line. I like it better than Samaria braid, Suffix Performance braid (my previous favorite), Stren braid, and Fireline. It is really good stuff, try it, you'll like it! Quote
