Loomis24 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Has anyone had the opportunity to fish with the new Verdict Rods?? I was thinking of getting one but cannot find them at my local BPS as they are out of stock. Like to just get some reviews and see if I want to purchase this rod to pair up with my premier or another GL2 Quote
northern basser Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I'm waiting for the same. They haven't been all that available yet. I did get a veritas and like the way it feels so I'm patiently waiting for the verdict. I realize these rods aren't the best you can buy, but for the $ they might be the best bargain out there. Quote

There is another thread down lower on this page. Your right in that they are hard to come by. They have been a huge hit. Abu gets an order in and its gone in days. Im on the Pro/Staff so I get em as I request em. Ive been fishing with some of the Veritas rods, and am placing an order for 12 Verdicts tomorrow. The rods are amazing! Extremely light, sensitive, and great action. Ive been fishing 2 of them alot, the 6'9ML spinning rod, and the 7'3MH casting rod. It is well built and very durable. The craftsmanship is not that of more expensive rods, but its fishability is. I compared my $300 combo to another guys $800 comboa yesterday. The Veritas/Revo STX was lighter. The Verdicts have arrived, so call around. The first shipment may already be gone from the stores, but my guess is its just arrived in the past couple days. Its lighter and more sensitive. There are some links on my web site. The site is not done yet, but the Abu info and links are on there. In my opinion they are the best value on the market. Quote
SeanW Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 sorry, complete brain fart there. I was thinking veritas as you could tell. I should have my Verdicts by the end of the week. Quote
Loomis24 Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 I think I am going to get the 7'3 verdict casting and then buy a veritas spinning rod not sure what model yet. I need a good rod that will be very versatile for me and 7'3 i think would do just that. Just wish that i could see one in stores before i buy one. Thanks for the information Sean Quote
SeanW Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Check out this link and save a few buck http://www.abugarcia.com/products/promotions#448. Quote
Loomis24 Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Thanks for the link. Its that time of year to take my reels apart and grease and oil them and just clean them up for the upcoming year. I bought some quantum hot sauce, think that would work ok on my premiers? Quote
Alex 703 Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 same here I waiting for more info on the verdicts. Im thinking of getting one verita and one verdict. I just don't know :-[ :-[ I wish that promo link worked for tackle warehouse Quote

andamtoft Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 is the measurement of the rod with the handle full collapsed of fully extended? I assume fully extended. If so, how much can the handle collapse? would a 7' rod become a 6'8"? Quote
SeanW Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 extended and Im guessing about 4 inchs. But each handle style is a different length, so +/- a inch or two. The flippin sticks might go down to 7'1 Quote
Loomis24 Posted January 8, 2011 Author Posted January 8, 2011 Sean let me know when you get your Verdicts and play with them a little. Appreciate your insight and your review of the rod, even if you are on staff I look forward to a honest review Quote
SeanW Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Being on the staff wont sway my opinion. I have a rod sponsor that is not Abu. I just liked the Veritas so much Im adding em in and moving the others out. So based on my experience fishing the Veritas, and having played with the Verdict at the show, Im very confident. By the way when I play with a rod, I have a reel with line and a casting plug. Yes I carry it with me.(I keep them in my truck) Quote
Josh Bassman Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I'm getting ready to get a new shakey head rod. Right now it's a coin flip between a Cumara or Verdict. I wouldn't mind saving some money, but I don't want to end up disappointed. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 6, 2011 Super User Posted February 6, 2011 I have two spinning ones and so far I have just made a few casts with them. Very smooth; good balance; and you can cast a mile if you want. I can pitch about 40-feet. Have not experimented with the rod handle but will do so and experiment with the various lengths. That's all I can add to the thread. Quote

I've heard some not-so-good things about the Verdict, which is why I got a Cumara. Quote
