VolFan Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I'm shipping two to DVT for cleaning/tuning. Any tips on how to package them for optimal safety? Quote
MNGeorge Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I shipped 3 reels to DVT before Christmas. I packed the reels in their original boxes and then put them inside the shipping box with some bubble wrap. I just shipped 3 reels to a guy yesterday that had no boxes. I wrapped each reel individually with enough bubble wrap to not only protect the reels but to also fill up the shipping box. In either case, make sure you use a good quality shipping box and tape it up thoroughly. Quote
Crankhead Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I just sent all of my reels in to Shimano for cleaning/checked over & also used bubble wrap. I got all of the reels back within 10 days of shipping. So this is the best time of year to get the reels done. I was surprised that 2 of my curado's need some bearings replaced. So it's good that you're doing maintenance now to avoid problems this summer. Quote
JigMe Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Bubble wrap is really cheap at walmart, if you are looking to purchase any. Also, please DON'T ship with USPS. They messed up my d**n reel purchase, darn it. Quote
