The BPS extreme rods or the Abu Garcia Vendetta rods?  Need one for crankbaits and one for flip n pitch what ya'll think?

I can't speak for BPS rods.. but you cant go wrong with a Vendetta..  I have one and absolutely love it.. it is light and sensitive

Two pieces of advice re:  Vendetta rods

1.  DO NOT purchase the Vendetta 7' M action, Mod taper rod unless you're using it for deep divers.  It was quite dead/dull sensitivity-wise.

I'm no Abu basher.  I used Vendettas all last year, casting and spinning models.  The 7' cranking rod was the only one that disappointed me.

2.  Unless you are doing serious punching, I would recommend the Vendetta MH, fast action, not the H action.  The difference in weight, handling and comfort is significant.

I can't speak for BPS rods, it's been about 25 years!

Hope that helped a bit.  Best of luck!

I compared the 6'6 M Vendeta and the Carbonlite and I bought the carbonlite.  I think the carbonlite is a little better balanced and felt a tad lighter.  It works well for crankbait fishing but is not sensitive  enough to me for bottom bouncing techniques.  The carbonlite has a better grip to me.  It has the hard rubbery strips over the EVA.

However, the Vendetta has a better warranty, looks cooler, and can be found cheaper unless BPS is running a sale.

Now things should be clear as mud for you.

I compared the Vendetta, Veritas, and the Carbonlite a few weeks ago and walked out with the Carbonlite. The Veritas felt much better balanced than the Vendetta, and the Carbonlite felt better than the Veritas.

Having owned three of the BPS Extremes (6'8" ML spinning, 6'6" MH & 7' MH casting), I can honestly say that if I had to choose between another Extreme and a Vendetta, I'd go with the Vendetta...but I think there are definitely better rods out there for a little more $$.

Yes what it comes down to is that I want a good flipping and pitching rod but only have like 100 tops to spend on one and I want it 7'6'.  If yall can please give me some ideas. Would be much help.

You're going to get 10 different answers from 10 different members. I would go with 7'6"H Carrot Stix Wild for $99. I have been very pleased with the performance of the pro-models with no problems. I just bought 7'MH Wild, but have not fished it since there is 18" snow on the ground. Quality components at this price range. If you're looking for sensitivity, look somewhere else.

if you have 100 to spend, then I would go wait until someone has a used shimano crucial flipping stick for sale. I have a 7'11 H/Extra Fast, and I am luving it. I throw Jigs, and weighted plastics on it.

I own a 7' MH Veritas, 7' M Carbonlite and 6'9 M Vendetta (spinning though).

In all honestly the three are close. Although rated a Medium the Vendetta is definitely much closer to a MH.

It's a tossup for me between the Veritas and Carbonlite, they're both very similar. The reel locking nut on the Veritas bothers me a little but is far from a deal breaker. I find the Carbonlite to be a little more comfortable but feel the handle is just slightly too long (may be in my head, have yet to measure). Check them both out in store and see which one you like best, doubt you'll be disappointed in either.

If you don't want to spend $100 then I would personally go with the Vendetta although I don't have experience with the BPS Extremes.

I would take a bps pro qualifier over a vendetta anyday, and have fished multiple of each rods. (I've since sold the vendettas). The pq can be had for $99

X2. BPS just lowered the price of the PQ rod down to $99 in the 2011 hardcopy catalog - PQ owners speak highly of them.

On the Extemes, I have 7 of them - they are not the best value at their usual $99 price point. However, I got all of mine at sale/clearance prices of $39 to $69 and at those price points, they're not a bad rod.
