Super User OkobojiEagle Posted January 26, 2011 Super User Posted January 26, 2011 Going back to an old bait of yesteryear... has anyone fished the Pedigo Spinrite? What are your memories of fishing it? steve Quote
detroit1 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I think i still have one. Is the spinrite the tailspinner with the short arm coming out of the front/top and a maribou skirt? If so, i never caught anything on it. Sorry.... Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted January 27, 2011 Super User Posted January 27, 2011 Have used Mann's "Lil George" tailspinners for years. Great smallie lure. Very similar to the Spinrite. Mostly productive in early spring or late fall. Similar to blade baits in effectiveness (IMO). And blade baits are easier to work. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted January 28, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 28, 2011 I believe the Spinrite would be closer to an in-line spinner than a Little George, but considerably heavier than today's inlines... maybe somewhere between those two. I've been wondering what made this bait successful four decades ago but isn't even available today? Is the modern spinnerbait an equally successful bait? steve Quote
stratosjoe Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I have one of the prototypes given to me by Jack Handly from the Horse Creek Marina. I also bought a few many years ago. I used them at Dale Hollow but cannot say I did real well with them. A silver buddy really worked better for me. Quote
Ecu Choirs Steven Walker Posted May 28, 2022 Posted May 28, 2022 The pedigo spinrite was the the lure of choice for white bass and hybrids on Greers Ferry lake in Arkansas in the 70's. I wished I still had two dozen of them. Quote
