B A S S E R Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I can get a Pflueger Supreme XT reel on a BPS Carbonlite rod for $126 + tax. Is that a good reel and would that be a good drop shot combo? I have never fished drop shot before :-/ Quote
central.PA.bass Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 depends on the action and stuff of the rod.. Quote
B A S S E R Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 depends on the action and stuff of the rod.. any action the carbonlite comes in. I was thinking either 6'9 ML Fast or 6'8 M Xfast Quote
central.PA.bass Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I don't see why either one wouldnt do the job! I'd go with the ML myself.. I just bought a Vengeance... got a 7'0 ML.. Quote
B A S S E R Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 i was wondering more specifically about the reel. anyone used it? Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 26, 2011 Super User Posted January 26, 2011 Almost like getting a free rod, I think the list price of a supreme xt ( old model) is around that price. I don't drop shot but I have 3 supremes that have served me very well, not a bit of problem even with the one I used in saltwater. Quote

Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 26, 2011 Super User Posted January 26, 2011 Buy it , you can't beat the price !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
B A S S E R Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 Okay sounds like a good reel. I had another Pflueger that served me well for a while so I think I will pick it up. It was between this and a Revo Winch on a crankin stick for $140. I think I will just get a pro qualifier for a rod i have now. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted January 26, 2011 Super User Posted January 26, 2011 I paid $99 for my supreme, so the rod is $26, nice deal, scoop it. Quote

1inStripes Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I like the President that I had, other than the handle. It was a very smooth reel. I would consider getting a supreme in the future. Quote

If you step up to the President XT, you'd get the same rubberized plastic knob that's on the Supreme MG. Quote
1inStripes Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I sold the President to a coworker, and picked up 3 Daiwa Excelers year before last. So far so good there. Quote
