GrundleLove Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Just picked this up at BassPro on Sunday. Curious too see how effective it is and if anyone has had any experience with it. As it stands on the spool, it actually looks pretty cool and seems that it could be a pretty effective tool. What do you guys think? http://www.basspro.com/Spiderwire-Stealth-Camo-Braid-Line-300-Yards/product/103328/-1550860 Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 25, 2011 Super User Posted January 25, 2011 It's not bad. No where near as supple as Samurai Braid, but overall good line. Quote
KenG85 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I have two spools of this stuff. Color scheme looks great. Not sure I buy in to the added invisibility though. I still will tie in a flouro leader. But I do think it would blend in well on the grass mats. I have 20lb and 65lb both in 300yds. I'm actually trying to sell the 65lb. though. I dont need string that diesel. Quote
OHIO Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I think it's the same as the regular Stealth braid, just different color. If this is true, it's a pretty good braid. It's the quietest I have used. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted January 25, 2011 Super User Posted January 25, 2011 Doesn't spiderwire have a brittleness/braking problem when being exposed to sun for too long? Quote

Hope that works out alright, since i've never used a flouro leader before im sure ill screw it up and lose some lures :-/ Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 25, 2011 Super User Posted January 25, 2011 I like it, I have been using it along with Power Pro for my braid and have no preference, I just buy what's available and cheaper where I'm at. Quote
ib_of_the_damned Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 The camo braid fades QUICK!!! It turns into the the light brown color that is on the line already. A trick that I learned is that if it fades take the braid off and reverse it, getting more mileage out of it. With that said I have not had a problem with it, it is strong, and gets the job done. Last thing is that after good use it starts to lose its compact round shape and expands a little. Quote

Then maybe you'll get 4x the usage out of a spool. Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Love the stuff. It's never going to be invisible, but it blends in better without the long black (dark green really) silhouette of normal brades. It's a great concept, and I have yet to have spiderwire go bad in the sun. Like any line you will have to respool every 6 months or so, depending on how much you fish. Quote

And yes, you do get 4x more out of a spool of braid. Quote
KenG85 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 If anybody is interested in this stuff, check the swap meet. Got a 37 spool, for 25 shipped. Quote
