wvuwhat Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I know this is a tall order, but just got a refund from a previous online purchase that I really wasn't expecting. Stipulations: -Baitcaster -Less than 7ft, if it's a one-piece rod. If it's a 2 piece, not a problem, it'll break down fine and will fit in my Accord. -I know this may be met with some skepticism, but I really like the yellow on the Skeet Reese stuff (I'm a WVU alum) -Where I purchase must take paypal About my locations: -Mostly small lakes with clear water -Some upper potomac river locations -Clear and deep resovoirs -Shore fishing (no boat, unless I decide to rent one) "Regular" baits -Senkos, senkos, and more senkos -Swimbaits if I'm at the river -Top-water in the evening if I'm there -Mooselock whistlers about 2% of the time (e.g. light baits for the most parts) If it really matters, I'm in the Northern Virginia area, so those bodies of water. Also keep an eye out in the flea market section. Some fantastic deal pop up! \ Edit: Whooops! I didn't see you wanted to keep it all under 170. Non the less, you can get some killer deals on Ebay and the Flea Market here. Just keep your eyes peeled Quote

SDoolittle Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I'm still wondering what a Mooselock Whistler is. Quote
wvuwhat Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 I'm still wondering what a Mooselock Whistler is. Think a weedless spoon, with a lock of moose hair on the back that would "whistle" coming through the water. I can't seem to find them anywhere, but I'll see if my uncle can snap a picture of one if he has any left. Quote
Ineedanewscreenname20170204 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Shop around for a Citica 200e for around $85 TYD and pair it with a used rod - a St. Croix Premier (7' MHF) would be a great choice and can be had for less than $85. Another great choice is the Mojo Bass line. Spend the rest on some Yozuri 12# hybrid ultrasoft. You will love this setup. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted January 26, 2011 Super User Posted January 26, 2011 Yeah, you did good. You're gonna love the Citica. For what you paid, nice combo for sure. Quote
