ptomacbass Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I got a new glass rod and the way my reel sits on it, it seems to scrape the paint away more than my Daiwa rods. I may be overdoing this, but I just like to protect my stuff. What can I do to prevent this? Quote
0119 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Old surf fishermans trick, cover the foot with clear shipping tape. They did it to protect chromed reel feet on ambassadeur frames. The aluminum screw rings on the new abu rods are good for scratching reel feet. Quote
ptomacbass Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Good idea, maybe electrical tape will work too. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted January 24, 2011 Super User Posted January 24, 2011 Electrical tape would work. Thats something i noticed on a few different rods when I first started but I was over tightening I think Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 A layer or two of teflon thread tape will cover them too and leave a sticky residue. Quote
