Get all of my Yozuri, and most other gear from Long Fin..great guys to deal with.. 8-)

Depends on the line thickness. Higher pound tests typically have fewer yards.

YoZuri Hybrid Ultrasoft has about the same line diameter as Berkley Trilene Big Game. Here's a link to specs for how many yards of line are on a 1 lb spool of Big Game based on pound test:

Thanks for the heads up on the amazing deal. I won't be needing fishing line for a long while. 8-)

Thanks for the heads up!  I picked up a pound spool of #6 and #12 for $60 shipped.

Sweet deal here. Just put in an order for 6#, 10#, and 12#. I love this line for cranking, spinnerbaits, and topwater. Thanks for sharing this deal. :)

Same order I made. Great minds think alike!  ;D

Great minds??? I just got a 55% on a practice exam for my boards in less than two weeks.  Not sure you want to compare yourself to me.  :)

Did you really need the third, or was it the fact that the shipping was the same for 2 or 3?  ;D

6# Spinning

10# Crankbaits and Topwater

12# Square bills, Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, and Traps. All around use as well if I am not using Fluoro.

I use 6# for spinning, and 10# as an all purpose line for my baitcasters. I got some 12# just to try it out because I usually use 15# for pitching into cover but found it to be a little too thick for my liking. If everything works out well 12# will be replacing 15# in my arsenal for that purpose.

I've used 12# Hybrid for T Rigs and pitching plastics. It works just fine. Thinking about trying Braid/Fluoro or straight fluoro for soft plastics this year.

Heck, if I don't like it; I've got enough 12# Ultra Soft to go around.  ;D

I ordered the #6 and #10 as well. Should be good to go for a couple years. I especially like the #6 on my spinning reels. I have found the #10 to be more than enough line for the lakes I fish.

Great deal. Thanks so much for passing it on Bass Hunter.

I just got the line today. What a tremendous deal at $25 a spool! The #6 has 8000 yards on the spool and the 12# has 4800.

I hope it has a good shelf life.   ::)

Do you guys use the ultra soft on spinning reels? I tried 8lb on my spinning reel and seemed to have a lot of memory. I went back to using Berkley XL.

Mine came in today as well - 5800 yards of 10lb; something about that amount just gives me a feeling of ... security! ;D

Yo-Zuri is still fibbing about the diameter of their 10lb line though - they list both the regular Hybrid, and the Ultra-Soft at .012" but it actually "mikes" at .013" - about what other manufacturer's 12lb is often listed at.

Applying KVD Line and Lure Conditioner and letting it dry overnight will help with that, especially with any co-poly or co-poly blends like Ultra Soft and P-Line CXX. I would recommend trying 6# Ultra Soft or CXX on a spinning reel if you're looking for an upgrade over XL or mono in general. The stuff is much stronger than the listed breaking strength, and the 6# handles like a dream. I haven't tried 8# Ultra Soft, but 8# CXX is a little stiff for me on a spinning reel, so I know where you're coming from

BTW, I like the Deadmau5 avatar.

I can't decide which color I like best. What do you guys use semi-clear and stained water?

I've always just used the green stuff. I have some non-ultrasoft Hybrid line in clear on some of my setups as well. Tbh I haven't really noticed a huge difference between the two as far as visibility in the water. Then again, I'm not really a believer of using "invisible" line in the water as to not spook the fish.

A follow up to this thread...

I received my spool of Yozuri 10lb test about a month ago. 5800yards for $24.99 (that's ~3.25 miles of line!). I have since respooled every single finesse/light T-rig/topwater/jerkbait/crankbait rod I have with it. And I have to say, so far, I'm pretty impressed! Line memory seems alot better than the 100% flouro I've been using. Sensitivity is good, and the line strength is excellent. I've been going out every morning, and have caught a bunch of fish on topwaters/pointers/flukes/senkos/t-rigs. So far/so good!

Each year, I try out a new line. For 2011, I am going completely Yozuri Hybrid Ultra Soft on all my mono/flouro rigs and Sufix 832 on all my braided rigs.

So far, I am really liking these two choices!

I got my spool of 10lb about 3 weeks ago and fished it on the few days that we had open water between lake freezes. I had the same good impressions as piscicidal so I placed a second order for 6lb. So, I guess I'm set for baitcasting and spinning for 2011,........and 2012,.........and 2013........... :)
