I've noticed that I break off or chip the lips of my Lucky Craft cranks more than other brands. I didn't give it much thought until I saw on "Day on the lake" TV show this saturday that the Pro had the same problem. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

I have NEVER had any issues with Lucky Craft lures. However, I buy virtually all hard baits from BPS locally. If I ever have any problem with any brand I take it back for exchange. I have never been denied for any reason.

i casted my pointer out and it hit a dock and the lip split clean off at the base. sent it back to lucky craft and they gave me a new one free of charge.

I too saw the "Day on the lake" episode where Randy Howell broke off a lip from a pointer.  I was amazed at the air time they gave it.  It was like they were really trying to emphasize the fact the LC bait broke.

As for me, I have never had lip break on an LC bait, but I did buy a pointer once (from BPS) that would not walk.  It always went to one side.  I took it back to BPS and they gave me a new one.

I have never broken a lip on a L.C. I wouldn't care if I did anyway because they flat out catch fish. I can't believe that one hasn't broke either because I throw them into some nasty places and bang the into alot of rocks, stumps, laydowns, ect. If your scared to break or lose a L.C. bait your probley not fishing them in the best places to catch bass. IMO

I've never had an LC or any other lure break without it beeing my own fault. If you're casting into nasty places you're gonna get a broken lure sooner or later. If you don't, you're not fishing in the right spots.

I agree with that !

Do you like a old bait-graveyard where you keep all your killed-in-combat lures.

Daniel, one of those broken baits looks familiar ! ;) ;D

The two LC lures that I have broke the lip on are the Signature series square bill cranks. Both times a corner chiped off. I thought about taking them back to the local tackle shop because they are good about returns, but I trimed the other corner and made a cofin shaped bill and they still catch fish. I fish those baits around rip-rap so that may be the reason they chip but as I said in my original post other makes of cranks I use don't seem to chip as easy. I will still use the LC lures because the out fish all my other cranks most of the time. From the other replys it looks like this is not a common problem.
