Indiana Bass1 Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Has anyone used one of these rods? The 6-6mh rod weighs 4.9 ozs. How does that compare to other rods ? I have no idea what most of the rods weigh. They do not list weights in the BPS catalog. Quote
plymouthrockbass Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 First off, ive never used one but i have held them and matched them up with some reels. They seem like good rods and people ive talked to have really liked them. They dont balance very well with some of the real light spinning reels like the CI4 or new Pfluger and they are heavier than high end rods but thats pretty much true for any rod that costs 100 dollars. I have a few TFO saltwater rods and ive had no problems with them, if ur looking for a good affordable rod its probably a good choice. Quote
Revo_Carrot Stix Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I haven't had a chance to see and hold one, but was interested in learning more about it as well. Here's Tackle Tour's take: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewtempleforkbass.html Quote
Quillback Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I have one, it is not as light as my higher end rods, but I can fish it all day no problemo. I mainly use it for pitching jigs and I have no problem detecting bites or hauling in fish. Good value for a $99 rod. Quote
Indiana Bass1 Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 Thanks for the info. I went to the tackle tour site and that was very informative. Probably will not be getting one of these rods. Quote

Those were my impressions as well. Although the Loomis-name adds some attention, there are plenty of other choices out there at this price point. Quote
