my get away38 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I have a hard time tying knots in braid what does everyone use attaching to jig, lure etc. and what knot do you suggest for tying a floro. leader to braid Quote
Reel_Kaotic Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I use a Uni-to-Uni knot to tie braid to flouro or mono. Here's a link to a site that has few different knots that may be useful to you. It's a great learning tool. http://www.netknots.com/html/fishing_knots.html Quote
WanderLust Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 For direct tie to lure or EWG hook I use a Palomar or improved clinch with braid. Wetting the line is key. I did experiment with double palomar and the berkley braid not but the afore mentioned work fine. For leaders I use a double Uni or an Albright. The Albright is more difficult but results in a smaller knot which is important if using a backing etc. http://www.sportsmanschoice.com/terminal_tackle_knots.htm ~W Quote
Gangley Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Braid to lure = Palomar Braid to Any Other Line = Uni to Uni Make sure that when you use the uni to uni with braid and another line, that the thicker line (larger diameter) wraps around the smaller line atleast 6 times before exiting the loop. Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted January 18, 2011 Super User Posted January 18, 2011 For braid to lure, a Palomar or Double Palomar will suit you just fine. For braid to leader, Albright or Alberto. Learn how to tie them. Far stronger knot than the uni-uni splice. Both of them are much more compact as well. Quote
