Super User webertime Posted January 16, 2011 Super User Posted January 16, 2011 There's an Avid @ my local shop that is on clearence for $76. What applications would you use this rod for? Really just trying to justify not getting it I guess. Quote
Super User .RM. Posted January 16, 2011 Super User Posted January 16, 2011 buy it right now... X2 Up close and personal t-rigging/jigs, spinnerbaits. I have a few 6'6" MH custom avids that I like for t-riggs (don't throw many jigs any more), and spinnerbaits.. Tight lines! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 16, 2011 Super User Posted January 16, 2011 Great deal , you'd better grab it !!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted January 16, 2011 Super User Posted January 16, 2011 I have a new-condition Avid rod arriving tomorrow via UPS. I was DELIGHTED to pay $96 for it, plus $25 for shipping = $121. For $76 plus tax....that's a killer deal - buy NOW! You could always turn it around in the flea market and make some $$$. Quote
BassThumb Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Casting or spinning? They make both. I assume its a casting rod, and I'd recommend using it for 3/8 - 1/2 oz spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and lipless crankbaits. If the action and taper is similar to the 7' MH/F that I own, it would also work well for light to mid sized jigs and plastics. At $75, it's a great deal even if it is a little short for my liking. kLuo Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 amazing deal. you will regret it later if you don't buy it. Quote
Bass4Me007 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Simply a great all-around rod. What a buy! Hope you got it! Quote
zero limit Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 The trade up value alone is worth the deal Quote
Super User webertime Posted January 18, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 18, 2011 Well... They refused to honor the price... department manager said it was mismarked and refused to let it go. The store manager was useless as well. They offered it to me for $120 which I know is a great deal, but it's just not what I need or can really afford right now. Quote
