Please DO NOT comment about any other rod because I could care less. :)  Unless it's Loomis. :)

I have the CBR843, but want to move up in size.  Has anyone fished with the Loomis Deep Flex series yet?  If so, how did it compare to Loomis' regular crankbait rod?

I thought you said you were going to be picking up an NRX next.  :)

I've gotta come raid your rod locker one day.

I did, but i want to get another crankin rod.  I was looking at the deep flex series and was wondering if the deep flex were better at performing with crankbaits than the regular crankbait rod.

All you gotta do is ask.   :)

By size, are you talking about length or power? Have you fished the 845 yet?

I wanted more power and length.  I currently have the 843, but don't like it for throwing cranks that run more than 8-10'.

I really enjoy the 843, but it can be a bit too light at times.  I was going to move up to the 845, but was considering moving up in length to the 7'6 903 model.

I was also looking at this one

in the CBR864 model.

Do you think the "deep flex" series is better than the regular crankbait series?

Sorry, but I haven't used the deep flex series. The only time I would look for a more moderate action rod is if it was dedicated to deep cranks and deep cranks only.

You might want to send Bronzefly a message and see what he has to say. That man knows his Loomis rods.

I wonder if that CBR906 might be the rod you are looking for. I bet it would supplement the 843 well.

Sorry I am not of much help. I have only fished the 783, 843, and 845 CBR rods.

if you're wanting more power and length, i would look hard at the cbr 906.

the deep-flex series are softer (more parabolic) thruout the blank..a good action if you're more used to the glass or composite cranking blanks...the regular cbr's are parabolic, as well, but get into power quicker down the blank.

each may have its place but, personally, prefer the cbr 845 or 906 for all-around...will easily handle 95% of the cranks you'll ever throw.

I've got the 843 as well and just picked up the 845.  I haven't used it yet but from what I've read I think it's the best choice for me anyways.
