I am not sure what this part is called, but I believe it assists in the anti-reverse.  It was making a light ticking noise late last year (no loss in performance), and I think I have discovered that this piece is the culprit.  It does not look damaged or worn though???  Best I can describe it is a ticking sign like someone spins the wheel on Wheel of Fortune.  Like I said there does not seem to be any performance issue.  It's just kind of a nuisance.

Also, interesting that this piece is not included in my Scorpion 1000 Mg.  It looks like the same exact reel inside except for that piece. Hmmmm.  I am also willing to bet that this piece will not be in my Curado E's.

Just looking for some advice and maybe someone else had the same problem.  Any quick fixes?

I stand corrected.  My 50E does include this part.  Looks identical. ::)

I believe its called the anti reverse dog. I had a problem with it on my 100D after I disassembled it. I had to seat it again and it worked fine, Ive also read that often the copper fingers get spread out and you need to gently press them alittle closer together.

Oh but it does exist in the E series Curado's.

It is called the Assist Stopper.. Part Number BNT2404

It is probably over greased in your reel and it is causing the blades to stick to the return ratchet plate and lift to high and release.

Clean the grease out of that section and re-adjust the blades grip on the ratchet plate. There should be enough tension (grip) that it lifts the dog slightly and doesn't let it drop until the crank has stopped turning.

That piece backs up the one-way bearing pack (IAR)

Tight Lines!

Thanks guys. I think it was a combination of the two. I actually did the exact opposite to try to "fix" the problem in the first place. ;D ::) I added more lube and widen the gap. Turns out just the opposite was needed. :)

Thanks again.
