Just a heads up.  Check your local WalMarts for fishing clearance.  I did not get an spectacular deals, but better than mail order or internet.  Filler spools of 50lb Power Pro $9.00, Chatterbaits $2.50.  Not bad anyways.

My walmart doesn't have jack shizz on sale. I went after Burley's post about it. They did get some lake fork magic shad in though, I picked up a few.

My local wally-world has Vanish for 5 bucks and Trilene Maxx for four bucks. I picked up 7 or 8 spools. They also had Glass Shad Raps for 2.50 and Minnow Raps for 3 bucks. Not sure how many they had, but I bought them all.

Going back this weekend to see what else they put out.

Got to go by and see what they have at my local Wally Mart.

I can go by two of them.

Maybe pick up some Shimano reels; some Lucky Crafts; a few RICOs; some Senkos; and Trileen Maxx.  Not to forget the G. Loomis rods they have in stock.

Your walmarts stock that stuff? Never ever have I seen Loomis rods, senkos, or Lucky Crafts.

If your being serious than I want your walmarts lol. Mine have nothing but cheap tackle for the most part. The best thing they have going for there isles are Power Pro.

Our local Wal marts don't seem to want to compete with the local stores. They have one isle of fishing tackle. Low cost basics. The highest end products they sell are a few Rapala's. I noticed the closeout of the above mentioned line though. They have half an endcap full of the line. Some of the best deals I got on hard baits was at the local bait shop. X-point hooks, Spooks, ect..

The clearance merchandise will vary on a store by store basis.  It is based on actual sales at that store.

Which is why I can't get anything more than 10 lb. test at my local store.

For awhile some of the Wal-Mart stores were carrying Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft. If any of you guys run across 1000 yard spools of #12 for under $10, pick up a couple for me. I haven't seen it around here.

I hear ya Burley.  Up here, everyone is infatuated with trout fishing.  This makes it very difficult to find stuff for bass at Wally world.

Looks like I'll finally be upgrading to some Zebco spincast combos.  I've been needing a new setup for swimbaiting and diamond jigging for lunker stripers, so this is perfect.

My local walmart has a decent amount of things on sale, but most of it is cheap crap thats not worth buying. sometimes you do find something nice for cheap

My local Target has something called Catch of the day Rapala lures.  Usually between 4-5.50$  for their DT series, not a great deal but sometimes there's a few good ones.

I heard rumor that Wal-mart was pulling most of their fishing stuff because they lose money on it.  Just a rumor, anyone hear anything about it?

Got to check it out....

My local wall mart just has cheap fishing stuff. However out of the cheap stuff they have some of it is good. They carry rapala hard baits, zoom flukes, senko knock offs, gamakatsu hooks, as well as roboworms.

I think il have to go and get stocked up on these lures....

Walmart does 'market studies" on each of it's stores.   They stcok what they believe the "market" will will purchase.  Some have more fishing, some have less.  Some have more hunting, some have less.  Some no longer sell guns, some have many.  They have an idea what will sell and what will not.

It's amazing that our dunkirk walmart doesn't sell crap for fishing stuff (for smallies and LM anyway). It's literally less than 3 minutes away from Lake Erie and a marina. There is a good selection of walleye stuff though some maybe that explains it.

While the Springville location which is about an hour away from Erie...has a much better fishing selection when it comes to bass.
