Scorcher214 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Was thinking of buying a vendetta paired with a revo. But the BPS pro qualifier looks just as good and half the price. the qualifier is 8.8oz and the revo is 8.89oz. So i dont think it would really make a difference, but i just came here to get some good input. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted December 25, 2010 Super User Posted December 25, 2010 Spend $20 more and get the Carbonlite in my opinion. Quote
hitchhiker Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I don't think you'll be disappointed with the PQ. You might be pleasantly surprised. Great reel for the money. Quote
s13john Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 http://www.***.com/Team_Daiwa_Viento_Casting_Reels/descpage-TDVI.html id go with one of these Quote

BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 26, 2010 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 26, 2010 I have two 7-3 Vendettas with Revo SX's on them and love them. That is definitely a good combo. Quote
GTrombly Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 I would get the PQ. cheaper with more options. Quote
OHIO Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 I have that combo right now and I love it. PQs and Vendettas are great products, especially for the price. Quote
Scorcher214 Posted December 26, 2010 Author Posted December 26, 2010 Well, im def gonna go with the PQ, might even buy 2 to put on on my extra rod! But, can I get any input from people who have used the BPS CarbonLite rod? Quote
SeanW Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 The Revo is higher quality. Will last longer, better resale. You choose. Quote
FishinTN Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I have a few revos, and for the money. Get the Pro-Q. I don't plan to sell mine, they preform great. Durability, can't say much about that. I have had a couple of mine for 2 seasons now, and have had no trouble. Just clean and lube like other reels and I think they will be good for years. I have asked a couple reel service guys, and they say they well made reels except for the drag system. upgrade that with a carbontex and they say it's a fine set-up. Quote

But, can I get any input from people who have used the BPS CarbonLite rod? I have a Carbonlite spinning rod and I love it. It's pretty durable and sensitive. I can't say much about the casting model because I haven't used one, but I don't think it's much different than the spinning rod. I don't think you will be disappointed with it if you end up buying it. Quote
chromedog Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I had a carbonlite in both casting and spinning. I really liked the rods, really did. But both were returned because of the hook holders rusting. If I pay that much for a rod, it shouldn't rust with less than 1 season on them. Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Ive never fished with the carbonlite rods but have held them few times and i like them! Going to pick me a couple up soon! Quote
Super User CWB Posted December 28, 2010 Super User Posted December 28, 2010 PQ's are great reels and on sale for $70.00, the best deal out there. Forget about re-sale. It's not a car. You won't be wanting to sell it anyway. Quote

Exact same reason I returned both my casting rod and spinning rod. Quote

Jeff P. Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I have a 2010 Pro Qualifier 6.4:1 on a 7' M/F Carbonlite rod, and I love this setup. I use mine for t-rigs, jigs up to 3/8 oz., stuff like that. Very sensitive and light setup. I am going to look at getting another Pro Qualifier in the lower gear ratio and possibly pair it up with the 7' Med/Mod Carbonlite for crankbaits. Quote
