The Rooster Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I've searched everywhere locally, and even online that I can think of to find Worden's Roostertail lures in the Black Chartreuse color. Sizes 3/8, 1/4, 1/6, and 1/8 oz. No one has them except for the Worden's website, and they want about $4.50 for them each plus shipping, which is about twice the going rate in a store not counting shipping. Local bait stores tell me they cannot get that color. I'm looking for that specific color, and it has an abbreviation of BLC on the back of each one. Any idea where I can get it?? BPS and Cabela's do not have them. Quote
Guest muddy Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Sometimes if you are looking for that one hard to get bait, that you havea lot of confidence in, you are going to have to pay more for it. I like to keep a few 10 inch Manns Jelly Worms in motor oil around, the only place I found em was on Manns site, also at full retail. I believe they do this not to compete with the sites they sell to, beccause they do sell every color available. I have friends who fish a particular flatfish for Northerns and cetain Mepps baits and they seem to have the same experience. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 17, 2008 Super User Posted February 17, 2008 Once again, Muddy is right. You may have to go to the web site and order what you want. Many of the retailers do not order all of the different color combinations; only the ones they think will sell. So I agree with the Muddy Man...go on line and make the purchase and then have a good time trying them out. Quote
The Rooster Posted February 17, 2008 Author Posted February 17, 2008 Well, you're probably right, and it does make sense. Just sucks. That black/chartreuse color is flat out awesome in muddy water. There was a time last summer after the rain the water looked so bad and that black/chartreuse was the only thing they'd hit for 3 days straight. I only had one left and they tore it up so bad I had to glue the skirt together to keep fishing it. Now it looks so bad I hate to throw it anymore but I can't get rid of it until I get 50 new ones.
