jeb2 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 That's a sad picture, right there. Dang. Parents will probably sue McDonalds, too. :-[ Wife got me a Steez103 for Christmas. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to my Core, Calais DC and Premier's. My first Daiwa baitcaster in many years. I'm not really expecting to be all that impressed, for some reason. Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted December 25, 2010 Super User Posted December 25, 2010 103 is a fantastic reel. I think you'll really like it. Quote

Scorcher214 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I haven't been here in a while. Good to get a laugh. Quote
The Rooster Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Man that's really sad. That kid looks inflated. Quote
BassThumb Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Way to go! That's how to squash a blatant troll thread. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted December 26, 2010 Super User Posted December 26, 2010 Hey Steezy, I'll be on the road trip, can I borrow one of your Steez reels for the day? If I like it maybe I will get one. Quote

Super User Bassn Blvd Posted December 27, 2010 Super User Posted December 27, 2010 I don't think Steezy was trying to show off, but I'm in the same boat as him. Except it's with Loomis. I'm to the point where I won't even look at rods if they're not Loomis. And if I do, then I immediately compare them to Loomis. It's a sad situation, but I don't care :. Quote

You might not like it Speed, The combo weighs only 7 ounces, but the custom made flotation device attached to it while its out on loan weighs 4 pounds. ;D ;D Quote
Super User 5bass Posted December 27, 2010 Super User Posted December 27, 2010 I invite any that has a doubt to attend the roadtrip outing and I will gladly loan* you a Steez combo for a day.(* security deposit required) I have fished the Steez rods and reels before so I'm good. I'm just wondering what the security deposit is. Quote

I recall your review of the NRX rods. Hopefully we can do a head-to-head comparison of the Steez vs the NRX at Kentucky Lake this spring. How 'bout Steez on Steez vs NRX/ Core 50MG; Steez/Core vs NRX/Steez? Should be interesting. Quote
chasiubao73 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 The Steez Reels ARE worth EVERY penny.I know for sure and I own 10 of them. I know there are some equal and/or better rods (I also own GLX and an OtterRods NFC custom) but when you pair a Steez reel and a Steez rod its a combo that's hard to beat. Anyone that doubts that has NEVER fished with one. I invite any that has a doubt to attend the roadtrip outing and I will gladly loan* you a Steez combo for a day. (* security deposit required) Not a big fan of the Steez SVF graphite rods anymore. Still great blanks but to me the quality control has gone down over the years or I've just been unlucky. The Steez SVF Compile-X, though more expensive, is what I come to expect out of the Steez line of rods even though one can argue that the difference in sensitivities between the two are at best marginal. But I concur, a steez, or any high end reel for that matter, strapped on custom rod on a NFC IM or HM blank built by a really good rod builder is pretty much almost as good as it gets for a high end tackle junkie in terms of feel. You should look into the "IS63 lariat" or "IS73 competition" being steez aficionado if you haven't already. Quote

I only wish they made more choices in that model. The complieX spinning rod is one of my favorites. Quote

Hmm, I had a long post typed out to responde to this but decided it's all been said already and likely said better than I could've. Enjoy your "great gear" steezy. : Quote

I just wish it was longer like between 7'4 to 7'6 but not as long as the 8' Heavy model. I'll probably replace it with the MB 667-1 NFC custom once it's completed. Quote
