I use KVD Line & Lure, on all three. For me I can see a difference in line manageability and cast length when I treat the line the night before I go on a fishing trip.

As previously noted, KVD L&L will make a noticeable difference in any type of line you use it on, although it was specifically developed for flourocarbon and braid. Unlike other products which are petroleum based and will only coat the line, L&L bonds to the line and is only removed through friction. It will also not harm your reels. Also, be sure to use it on spinning reels. It really helps with the coiling, etc., you get with spinning reels.

No.  I have found it to be more trouble than it's worth.  The KVD I've tried on Yo-Zuri Hybrid only had a slight effect and had to be reapplied frequently to maintain the slight benefit it achieved.  And I saw no effect on fluoro I applied it to.

I use the Ardent Line Butter, only because the KVD product was sold out and I had a 2 day tourn. coming up out of town and I needed something.

Anyway, It's ok, it leaves an oily film on the water on the first cast but it does help on my spinning reeels.

I use the KVD because they had a sale on bottles where the label was scrunched. Its ok i think it helps with memory.

I do...it helps. I just spray it on the spool before spooling up on my reel.

I don't use it on braid....Never saw a reason why i needed too.Doesn't make any sense why i need to put it on braid. I don't find braid to be too stiff.Braid breaks in by itself. You'd just be wasting it IMO.

i use reel magic on mono, it does help with memory. your not suppose to use it on flouro though, i dont use flouro so its ok

I like to tie my line to something and take all the line off the spool. Then untie it from that object and reel it all back in to take out any line twists. When i reel it back in, i'll spray some into a clean rag and hold the line with the towel. Then let it dry overnight.

I've also heard people use a watered down combination of dawn dish soap and fabric softener. This gives it a temporary lubed feeling and definitely helped with pitching with fluoro.

Braid, no

Mono, copoly soak in hot water works good.

Sprayed some kvd on a spool of copoly, the lined definitely softened up, have yet to use that spool so don't know if it's really better than hot water.

I use it in everything but braid and I can notice a difference. The hot water would cost less :P Let me know if it works as good, never even heard of it.

I got a bottle of the KVD stuff but have yet to put it on the line.  I wanted to wait until closer to the time I'd go fishing again, which ain't gonna be until spring!!  DAYUM it's cold outside!!

Used KVD on fluoro and co-poly, and saw no performace increases. Never bought anymore.

I use KVD on all nylon line, and Ardent Line Butter on braid. I don't feel that the KVD does anything to braid other than maybe help it retain it's color.

I started using the KVD conditioner last season. I was a little disappointed at first, probably because of all the hype that I read on here. I was expecting it to be more effective on the heavier fluoro and co-poly lines that I intended to use it on. It still did a decent job in making these lines more manageable, enough to justify it's use at that cost. ($5-10 per season for most people) But temper your expectations, it's not going to make CXX feel like Sufix mono.

For the best performance with KVD L&L, saturate the spool and let it dry overnight. I apply it at the beginning and end of every trip on all nylon lines.

By they way, guys, Ike says you can use silicone spray, too.

100% pure silicone.

I have not tried silicone but it is a lot cheaper than KVD's product.

Just a thought to pass along.  :P

You can use silicone, but I've tried in the past on mono and it dried the line and gave it a chalky feel after a while.

Best thing I've tried is Lemon Pledge, on my line and line guides.    In fact, after fishing, I wipe down my rods and reels with lemon Pledge.

KVD worked on my bc's season old mono when it started to get a little too 'coily' for my liking. I'm wondering if pulling out about two cast lengths and letting it sit for a while would do the same thing.

Earlier, I was looking into using Pledge as opposed to more expensive products like Bass Boat Saver or Bow To Stern for cleaning the gelcoat of a fiberglass boat. I heard that some people were using it on their boat, motorcycles, guitars, ect.

I tried once or twice at first, and although it put a great shine on it, I chose not to after I saw the ingredient list. It made me think twice about using it on furniture even, at least w/o gloves. Heavy naptha, butane, propane.  :P

I found it again online:
