What's the advantage?

When fishing tournaments, people concentrate on that wicked handle, not fishing. Thus giving you an advantage.  8-)

Looks cool though! not sire I would fish one though unless I happen to get a free one  ::P

I'm holding out for the electric push button model so I don't have to crank it at all and don't forget the automatic bite sensor and hook setter.

Electric reels may tad big for bankfishing, how about a battery operated one, it's Daiwa too, only $600.

Interesting looking reel handle indeed. Sort of matches the functionality (lack thereof) of the split grip rods.  :P

split grips reduce weight. i find the amount weight it does reduce makes a difference
