Bassnajr Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Hey all... I had an older Fenwick jig rod (HMX) which had a broken reel seat. Sent it back to Fenwick and was advised that this rod was not available any more, so they upgraded me to a new Veritas for a very nominal fee. Charlene, the CS person was very knowlegeable about the product, polite, and helpful. Rare now days to find a company and people so helpful. Fenwick was never my go to rod choice, but they got me thinking. Any way a shout out to "Charlene and Fenwick CS!!!!! PS Anyone had experience with the Veritas rods yet?? Please let me know what you think. As you know, Veritas means TRUTH!!! (I looked it up on that internet)!! ;D Quote
jdw174 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Ah, I may be having a senior moment here, but isn't the Veritas made by AbuGarcia? I can't imagine Fenwick replacing one of their rods with one of theirs. Quote
Bassnajr Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 Yes, you are correct but "Pure Fishing" owns them all...they are VERY sneeky!!!! Quote
SeanW Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Pure fishing company's customer service is by far one of the best around. Quote
breezy Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I own a 6'6 MH Veritas and love the rod. It's extremely lightweight and sensitive. The split grip isn't my favorite, and personally I prefer a full cork handle, but by no means is it uncomfortable or a deal breaker. The Veritas rods also seem to run slightly stiffer than rated (not as bad as the Vengeance/Vendetta) so with that in mind you may want to handle one in store. I can't say enough good things about the rod though, I think you'll be very pleased with it. Quote
