Daiwa Steez 7'1" Heavy CompileX Casting Rod

Daiwa Steez Baitcast 7.1 Reel

Daiwa 70# Braid Line

OR

Daiwa Steez 6'8" ML CompileX Spinning Rod

Daiwa Steez 2500 Spinning Reel

Daiwa 40# Braid Line

I bet everyone saw this one coming ::)

You mean kinda like you recommending a rod/reel combo that you thought up between "naughty" dreams? ::)

As for the rod, M/XF spinning rod.

Nope, not thought up, just pure heaven.

LOL, believe it or not Steezy my comment was not directed at you.

I know you have used those combos whereas the young'un is just dreaming them up.

The rods I dream about between Palin time doesn't mean I can't want one. :) Who cares if iv'e never used that custom rod, If I only had one rod, thats the one I would want ::)

As for rods i've really used though, It would come down to an Avid, Saavy, and Crucial. All 3 have great warranties and perform nicely for the price range.

But I do guess that: Me Saying a Custom i've never used = Steezy saying he'd take some steezs  :)

If you said this about a lure I would say a jig, so since you're asking about a rod I would say a Dobyns DX744C. My Jig rod.

That would also be a great discussion...

If I only had one, I'd say St Croix Avid 7', MH/Fast action rod, paired with a fast retrieve reel (7.0:1) with a flippin switch...maybe a Quantum Accurist PT.

Not the best combo around, but you could use this rig for just about every type of fishing except for punching through real heavy slop.

Mine would be GLX783C paired with a Daiwa Pixilla, or the same reel with a GLX782C.

Any one rod owned by Redlinerobert... :)

I'll second that motion !

On first blush, I was going to X3 this comment. Then, I thought about it and for me, Redlinerobert's stuff is just too pretty to fish. It would break my heart to start seeing the "boat rash" and "bank rash" tearing up those purty rods and reels. I KNOW that they are super duper fishable gear, but just too high-end for me... ::)

Right about now, I wouldn't care if it was square fiberglass teamed with a Zebco 202, as long as the weather was nice! :)

If you only had one rod, what would it be?

I'll go with Phenix Ultra MBX 660H, it's 3.4oz, sensitive and well balance. Paired with CORE 100MG or CH50 MG. I could cast a 1/4 leadhead w/ 3" soft swimbait to 1 oz hardbait with good distance. It's pretty light and well balanced that I could walk-the-dog all day without any fatigue.
