Trilene Sensation

This line when I first started spooling it on, it felt really good and smooth. But after a few trips, this has been one of worst lines I've ever used, along with Vanish. It doesn't have much memory, but it almost dries out, and frays and breaks easily?

Do you have any experience with Sensation ?

What do you use copolymer for ?

I know Vanish gets a bad name for some reason. However I found it to be very good line. It doesnt have the best shock absorbency but I use it for drop shotting so it serves well. I only use Trilene and Spiderwire line these days, but Ive never fished sensation. My partner seems to love the trans optic line. I use either Big Game, or 100% fluorocarbon.

Usually lines come with a slick coating, which is normal as you experienced when you spooled up. Most likely, Triline didn't know what they were doing when they formulated it (Much like early Vanish) and it lost the slickness causing it to feel dry, etc. I think its a mfg problem not user.

I'm not sure though, as i've never used Sensation.

And also, I thought Sensation was just a low stretch mono, not a copoly? :-?

Never had that problem with sensation, mine felt good the day I trashed it.  However, the strength and abrasion resistance sucked.  It had great manageability but broke way to easily.

Yeah, if I can help it, I'll stick with 100% flourocarbon and Suffix Siege.

Trilene Max was very good for me, but I think its discontinued, the only store I see it in anymore is my Walmart and in green

I did line tests several years ago. Did three break samples using a Berkley digital scale. Took average and rounded up or down. Breakage tests were done knotless. Line diameter was miked, not from manufactures label.

I had a lot of problems with the older Sensation. Sensation purchased in the past five years have had no problems with breakage.

Agree, it is not very abrasion resistant. And with its' smaller diameter per pound test abrasion may cause more weakening. However, Sensation is a strong line per diameter.

I do use Sensation only in open water. In wood or rocks I use Original Stren. It has an excellent combination of abrasion resistance, strength per diameter, stretch and flexibility.

I won two free spools of Sensation as a "door prize"  at a tournament so i tried it out.  I can't remember why it sucked,  I just remember that it sucked.....HARD!  But as least it didn't cost me anything.

So I just used it as backing/filler.  Its great for that (but not much else).

Then you must not have tried Trilene MAXX. Only line I've used that caused birds nests on spinning gear.

I have used Sensation some and never noticed any problems. But, like someone else here, I only used a couple of free spools that I somehow managed to acquire.
