Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted November 16, 2010 Super User Posted November 16, 2010 http://www.***.com/E21_21_Carrot_Gold_Stix_Casting_Rods/descpage-E21GCC.html 7'10''M Carrot Stix Gold great for throwing cranks of all sizes....I threw an Owner Cultiva 78sp rip'n minnow, Cordell big-o, Rapala DT10, and SK Series 6 today on mine, handles them all very well Quote
barroncooper Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 Falcon bucoo BCC-4-176 $109.99 at TW free shipping. I was thinking about this one. I have it in the 7' model. do you think the 7'6" model would handle deep cranks well? Quote
Carrington Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 shimano compre, its not split but it can sling baits very far, Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 16, 2010 Super User Posted November 16, 2010 Believe it or not, but check out the Bass Pro Shop crankin stick. For the money you can't beat it. Quote

The handle length might through you off but trust me it's long enough to make two handed casts. Quote
06Stratos Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Go check out denali rods. they have some really nice rods for good prices. I think they have the best under $100 rod in the Jadewood that i have used in a long time. I have the 7' and 7'6" crank rod and man these things are sweet Quote

FishinTN Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 That quantum KVD 7'10" rod would be right at your price point. I don't have one, but I know a few that do that say they like it very well. For a glass compostirod it is pretty light. Quote

barroncooper Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 I'm really liking the bucoo bcc4 176. I'm just concerned that it will not have the back bone for deeper cranks. I have the 7' model of the same rod and when I really whip on it with a dd22 tied on i feel like I could break it. but it hasn't yet and I can get some serious distance with that rod. Quote
bowfish12 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Shouldn't have to worry about that, been throwing 6xd's all summer with it. Quote
piscicidal Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 My cranking stick is a 7'6" M. If I had to do it again, I'd go 7'6" MH. It launches baits a mile, but a little whippy for deep cranking and ripping traps thru grass, IMO. Quote
kyle317289 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I've got the 7'10'' kvd rod. It's got a good action and you can throw big cranks a MILE. it's a tad heavy but that's to be expected with a nearly 8' glass/comp. rod Quote
Super User deep Posted November 19, 2010 Super User Posted November 19, 2010 I got a 7'8" Pinnacle Perfecta, MH/medium. I got it for $169.99, but you'll probably get it for less than $150 if you buy it during the thanksgiving sale. Just boasting, but I'm yet to lose a fish on it; no kidding. It's crazy sensitive, but doesn't tear the hook out of the fish's mouth. Oh, and IMHO, get the longest rod you are comfortable with. Quote

barroncooper Posted November 20, 2010 Author Posted November 20, 2010 Thanks for all of the replies and information guys. I'm in between the bucoo bcc4-176 and the pinnacle perfecta. we'll see. I don't think I'll be needing to deep crank for a while anyway. Quote
