trevor Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 This is unreasonalble insanity! http://www.tackletour.com/reviewmegabassparaizo.html Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted November 13, 2010 Super User Posted November 13, 2010 Not quite my taste. Quote
SDoolittle Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Not quite my taste. X2 I think it's ugly. Quote
rubba bubba Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Can you believe they didn't test it with a Shimano? Clearly that voids any credibility of the reviewers. Quote
dave Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I thought this thread was going to be about redlinerobert. LOL Quote
Super User Micro Posted November 13, 2010 Super User Posted November 13, 2010 More about show than fishing. I'd be afraid to get that wet. So what's the point? Quote
RWSCHMITZ Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 WOW a 6'5" rod that is 5.9oz and a wood handle for $1100.00 THAT Rod IS STONE COLD UGLY Do guys really fish with rods like this ???? Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted November 13, 2010 Super User Posted November 13, 2010 Ok, so it comes with right or left hand grip.....BUT, not everyone holds their rod the same. I hold mine almost entirely by the reel seat and others hold it behind the reel. So it just doesn't make since to me how they could make a rod grip like that that will fit everyone's grip style. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted November 13, 2010 Super User Posted November 13, 2010 I have 8 rods that I use regularly. All 8 cost me less than the price of this rod. This rod certainly would not be for me, but if a person has the money to fish something that is completely unique more power to him. Quote
Jake. Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 The only part I don't like is the wood handle. This is unreasonalble insanity! If someone has the money, and likes the rod, then why is it? People pay very high prices for lots of different things. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Does it make breakfast for you or tie the lures on to its own line? Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted November 14, 2010 Super User Posted November 14, 2010 This rod does nothing for me. I think the 'golden age' of Megabass is over. Their Slant Bridge rods from 2004-2006 were and always will be the best of the best as far as I'm concerned. Quote
steezy Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Ugly X10. Not quite my taste. X2 I think it's ugly. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted November 16, 2010 Super User Posted November 16, 2010 I love that reel seat, bet it's unbearable to fish in winter months though. Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 The only part I don't like is the wood handle. This is unreasonalble insanity! If someone has the money, and likes the rod, then why is it? People pay very high prices for lots of different things. Agreed, besides this goes with the whole tax breaks for the rich thing. Let them have their money, trust me they will be dumb with it and give it to you for STUPID things, like a 6'5" rod. I'm all about it, if I'm the seller! Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted November 17, 2010 Super User Posted November 17, 2010 I'd hardly call it dumb. Quite a few folks buy these because they collect tackle, and because they can. No different than paying $1k for a pair of nice cowboy boots when a $100 pair will do the same thing. Quote

steezy Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I guess I am a complete idiot cause I love my expensive rods and reels. Quote
tholmes Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 This rod certainly would not be for me, but if a person has the money to fish something that is completely unique more power to him. This ^. In my case you could figure in the cost of the reels too and still not come up to $1100. Funny thing is, I still catch bass with 'em Tom Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted November 18, 2010 Super User Posted November 18, 2010 I guess I am a complete idiot cause I love my expensive rods and reels. If loving high priced fishing gear makes you an idiot, you're in good company here. 8-) I don't have the dollars, but if I did I would probably have high end tackle also. On the other hand, I'm happy with my lower end stuff. It's all good. Quote
Bass Dude Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I thought the Steez were priced high.....jjjeeeessh!!! But if you have the money, go for it. Quote
