rubba bubba Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 No, but he's been extremely courteous and continuously posts trying to help out others. No doubt that translates into his actual work as well. Quote

northern basser Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 DVT serviced my chr. 50mg, added new spool bearings, new cast controll washers and carbontex drag washers. I thought they did a excellent job and in a timely manner also!! Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted November 9, 2010 Super User Posted November 9, 2010 No, but he's been extremely courteous and continuously posts trying to help out others. No doubt that translates into his actual work as well. x2 From what I've heard, his servicing is top notch. As much as DVT participates on the forums, he'd have a hard time sticking around if he did crap work. Quote
Guest beowulfx71 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 He cleaned up my Ardent reel very nice. Quote

NateFollmer Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 DVT does great work on reels and rod making, but man, he is a TERRIBLE fisherman... HA just kidding! Quote

Whets Lines Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I would highly recommend Mike at DVT. I recently had him build my first custom rod and service two of my reels. He took the time to work with me as well as educate me on the process and what to look for in my rod. His communication and customer support is to be applauded. By the way, my new custom micro-guide St. Croix looks awesome. Unfortunately, it took me all season to save up for it and now I have to wait until spring to give it a good workout. Whets 8-) Quote

I would have replied sooner, but haven't been online for awhile. If I remember correctly it was in the $60 range. Not bad considering the bearings are $30 retail and the carbontex are like $10. I'm normally a do it yourself guy w/ a lot of things, but I'd rather not risk screwing up a expensive reel. DVT will get more business from me this winter. Quote
scrutch Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 thanks a lot. Sounds like you're a lot like me when it comes to the do-it-yourself thing. I agree completely about not wanting to mess up an expensive reel. Quote
