Frog Rod Suggestions

My frog rod snapped and i need some suggestions on a new one.. my last one was way to stiff which is why i think it snapped it had little give in it

No price point listed, but by far my favorite frog rod is a Dobyns 736, awesome rod, and perfect for frogs. Light enough to effortlessly walk a frog all day.

I use a Crucial flippin stick (7'6" MH) as my primary frog rod.  Love it.  Has plenty of "give" in the tip before a rock solid backbone.

  A little softer fast tip might help casting but I doubt that the lack of flex led to your rod blank failure.

I own both the new Loomis Frogs rods, The Quantum Dean Frog rod (not the goofy color one, but the one before those came out), The Powell Frog rod, The Lamiglas Certified Pro Frog rod and the Lamiglas Excel Frog rod and to be honest my favorite, of which I just purchased a few months ago is the Excel Frog rod. I can't believe I said that, but it's true.

Go figure, I spent a fortune on Frog rods and the cheapest of the bunch is the one I like most.

i picked up my brothers excel yesterday and was playing around with it throwing a frog in the pool and i noticed that the excel is a little on the heavy side.. but i love the action of the rod its a little bit softer than that broomstick i was using. hmmmm

I have the 7'6" MicroMagnesium which is a great frog rod also and a little easier on the pocket. Makes a good H pitching rod also. I even use mine for carolina rigging from time to time. Very light and sensitive.

There's no doubt that the rod is heavier then say a Loomis rod, but I have fished with it all day without it wearing me out. I don't find it to be that heavy, in fact with the same reel on it as on the Certified Pro I believe the Excel feels lighter, at least to me.

The only thing I would really like to see is for Lamiglas to add a full rear grip to balance the rod more, but for a split grip its not nearly as tip heavy as some of the split grip rods I have tried. 

In any event, was just giving my opinion for whatever that's worth. I know how hard it is to find the right Frog rod and that everyone is a little different in what there looking for in such a rod. I wish you luck on your search and once you find it, happy Froggin!

I just bought a excel frog rod, have'nt used it much but I do like it. Seems pretty light to me, but then again I wasn't using any high dollar rod like a loomis before. I think the whole line of excels are great rods for anything at the $150.00 range

Well guys i believe this just going to be a trial and error thing, my last two frog rods were to stiff for me. Im going to just try several rods and see which i like the best.

so i just ordered the 7'3 lamiglas excel frog rod with a revo stx

:-? this is the last chance im giving revos, im a shimano guy but i will make an exception on my frog setup bc i do like the 24lbs? of drag on the revo. I also ordered a new flippin stick i got a power tackle flippin stick im goin to throw a frog on it a little bit also and see how i like it.

Daiwa Steez swimbait rod.  Its absolutely ideal for frogs and I know there is no lighter stick on the market with the same power. 

I have mine paired with a JDM Zillion HLC and Samurai 65 lb braid.

I don't know what it is about frogs rods, but it took me forever, not to mention a small fortune, to find the one for me. Worm rod, crank rod, spinnerbait rod, topwater rod, jig rod and on and on was easy, but finding the right frog rod took forever.
