Just recieved my replacement 6'6' M XF S BPS Carbonlite today.  Sent the last one back when it broke for no apparent reason.  Took about two weeks including shipping both ways for BPS to get it back to me.

I really like the action, power, weight and performance of this rod!  Just hope the new one lasts alot more than one fish :)

I'd buy three more just like it if it proves to be durable.  But I have my doubts.

I've only had my carbonlite for 2 weeks, but I've caught more than ne fish on it with no problems. Love the reel as well.

Hope it works out for us both!

Glad to hear it was replaced. Did you have pay for shipping?

I payed to ship it to them, yes.  But they paid to shipped the new one back.

Customer service told me if I would have taken it to a store they would have just handed me a new one.  But the closest store to me is over 2 hours away and I wasn't going to get there anytime soon, so I just shipped it.

I had the same thing happen to me, I loved the rod - but broke right away.  They weren't kidding, I just walked in with the pole they said go pick another one out, no questions asked.  I got an extreme instead - couldn't make myself get another carbonlite.

Cool! 8-)

Yes I have some Extremes bait casters and they are great rods.  I like the PQ's too.  But I don't like BPS spinning rods.  They just feel to heavy, akward and bulky, that's why I have high hopes for the carbon lite.  I wish they hadn't done away with the Finesse series rods.  Those were my fav's for the price but they didn't offer them in anything more than a M action.

I hope it didn't cost to much! But yea they do hand over a new no questions really. I took back my PQ rod before when I broke it. I even was able to exchange out my Rocky's steel toe boots for a bigger size after I roughed them up from work. The shoe department told them up front they still under their warranty so they took them back. I was really shock but glad they did cause at first the service department wasn't for sure. I wasn't looking to pay the high price of those boots again and those one was killing me. Back to the rod my brother has to get his replace to, he hasn't done it yet though. My carbonlite so far is holding up. You fish the new rod yet? How is it holding up?

Hot Rod did you get the chance to fish the new rod?

i'm always amazed when i read stories like this. my local BPS (manteca, CA) isn't like that at all. the trigger on one of my prolite finesse rods broke off 13 months after i bought it and took it in. the clerk said i was SOL so i asked to speak to a manager and he came out and said he was "bending over backward" for me but there was still nothing they could do since it was past the 1-year warranty and the date code on the rod blank itself was even older. another time, i brought back a brand new, unused reel i bought in left hand and changed my mind and wanted right-hand retrieve...they spent about 2 minutes inspecting it and then called up one of the reel guys to come up and look at it before they exchanged it for me. like i said, it was brand new and i barely spun the handle on it!

now, i will say that everytime i've called and talked to a BPS rep on the phone, they've been super pleasant and helpful.

I've had one since spring. It's my main T-rig and jig rod. I wouldn't hesitate a minute to get another one. It's the 6'9" MH extra fast.
