The real skin makes no difference whatsoever. It's just another gimmick to catch us fisherman and make us pay more for a lure that catches fish anyhow.

I 'm a tackle junkie, it doesn 't matter if it 's gimmick, I gotta have a few. ;)

But Gerald Swindle (ironic last name) said it caught all the fish in the tank.....  ;)

Keep your extra couple dollars....

have you ever been told that you had been "skinned"... hahaha actually, I will probably try some at Amistad next month. The fish are getting so picky in that clear water I can use any help I can get...

I like the concept if done properly. Their RS trout swimbait looks real good. To bad the bait itself is not getting great reviews. I see no reason to put a squid skin on a crank bait. Now if they put a shad skin over a shad shaped bait then they would have something. However todays paint scheams are so intricut and realistic they can match those skins. I can see an advantage with heavy scaled fish on a hard swimbait. Maybe if they did a baby carp pattern they would have something but I see no advantage on a crank. If anything its a potential weakness in the finish.   BUT...... like any other lure you just never know. the fish might really like some of those patterns.

I got to get a close look at one of these over Christmas time and it is a nice bait but I don't see where it would be any better than a regular LC pointer.  It's hard enough to shell out $15 for the regular Pointer.  Why I spend another $5?

I think it might just make enough of a difference in real clear water when it suspends. The fish get a real good look at it as it sits there.

Ever seen a squid in your lake? ;)

Just stick with the regular pointers, they are great baits.

Amen to that ! Basic pointers are tremendous jerkbaits... I especially love the DD 78 SP and the 100SP.

As for the Real Skin version, well it's your call.

Don't buy the marketing deliriums, like Swindle caught every single fish in the tank twice, and the fish would even ask for more  :;) !

If you want them, and has the purchasing power to do it ... well we live in a free country. I know a bunch of people around me that bought some and won't even fish with them. Some bassfisher also tend to be collectors.  ::(

As for my personal opinion, I think it adds nothing fishing-speaking. It sure looks pretty.

If you only have to by 1 pointer. Get a 100 SP in Aurora black.  ;)

Doesn't seem like anything thats really going to make a difference IMO. I believe when it comes to freshwater bass, the scent takes places after they hit the bait and have it in their mouth, I may not be correct here, but thats my opinion on the subject. Anyways, from what I've heard about this LC Real Skin, its suppose to release off scent over periods of time due to the real skin, now if you ask me, releasing off scent is pointless as "I" believe bass can't pick it up. And as for it being a hard lure the bass really doesn't hold on to the lure because of all the treble hooks, so the scent really doesn't have a period of time to come into play, making a scented Hard lure pointless IMO.

Now as for saltwater, I have experienced things that leads me to believe saltwater fish do indeed pick up scent before actually biting the bait(especially when it comes to fluke), so in the saltwater field of fishing I think something like this may make a difference. But like I said, as for freshwater bass, I don't think its going to make any difference. This is just my honest opinion.

I think that is irrelevant.  I caught numerous fish on "Trout" like baits in lakes that don't have trout.  Or have used crawfish scent on baits on a lake that doesn't have crawfish.  Just a thought.

That's not the point! Real skin or no real skin it still will work. ;)

;D ;D
