I just bought four of these recently and they are awesome.  I had to pay full price but even that is a deal in my opinion.

I have 3 and they're very nice rods... can't beat quality materials hand crafted in the USA with a lifetime warranty.

That is awesome. Oh the irony. I live about 2hrs from their HQ and no local dealer carries them.  So if O ordered one from TW, it would be shipped to their depot and mailed back to WA State. Sheesh!!!

If I am not mistaken, Lami does sell rods from their HQ but at their MSRP so it would be cheaper to get it from TW.  :(

I am blown away at what is offered in an Excel rod.

Looking for a rod for lighter jig fishing and was wondering if the XL 705C would work for this application?

I like to palm my rods and was wondering how well these rods balance?

I have the 734C and primarily use it for light jigs. It's 3" longer than the 705C you're interested in and medium instead of MH. I've been very pleased and feel that it is pretty balanced and comfortable to cast for a few hours.

You can get Excels at Bob's Sporting Goods Longview. 1-800-292-5551.  Sheesh is right.

Being a G.Loomis and Quantum guy I got to say I am rather impressed with the Excel Frog Rod I bought a few months ago from TW. At the TW regular price its a steal, this is a crazy steal. Excellent rods IMO.
