i think i have it all figured out! finally. i'm going to keep the 115 and use it for fun fishing for the giants. then i'm getting a 100 for tournaments and when the situations ask for it. and i'm getting another "SAMMY" type lure that is better in chop conditions that is the same size as the 100. thanks for the help everyone

The 100 is the only one I like.  In fact I love that bait, but I have a 65 and a 128 and I don't care for them at all.

i made my order today and now i have a 85, 100, and 115. i also got another bait like the sammy that works better in windy conditions. its the same size as the 100. i plan to fish the 85 and 100 the most, but when i want to catch a HOG i'm gonna fish the 115. thanks again for all the input.

so whats the biggest fish you've ever caught on a sammy?

i was going to get a gunfish, but i already have a lot of pop-r's and things like that. maybe in the future though. it looks like a good bait.

even though this guy is a friend, my goal is to beat this fish.

Wow Now we're talking !

Definitely one of the nicest smallmouth I have ever seen.

And nice color too !

How big was that trophy ?

As for the sammy I'm using... It all depends on the situation as it has been mentioned.

But I tend to favor a sammy 100 most of the time.

I like the 115 & 128 when I want to achieve slower slides and a slower Walking-the-dog. On the contrary I'll go to a 85, if I want faster action.

Here we also use the 65 a lot for big yellow perch. And I remember having a lot of fun with the 65 on the Mississippi River in the St Cloud area (MN) .... even caught a good share of crappies on it, as well as a big largemouth buffalo (Yeah I thought I had the smallie of a lifetime  :'( ).

But yeah ! If I should keep only one... that would be the 100  ;)

it was 22 1/4" and 8 lbs. he caught it on a swimbait he makes. check out lakextackle.net to see what he's got. its always catching some big fish.

i plan to do the exact same. fish the 85 fast and the 115 pretty slow. i can't wait until the spawn here with the big fish up shallow.
