I am looking to purchase a new affordable high quality rod and reel and am thinking about getting the Skeet Reese Rod and Reel combo. The spinnerbait/worm rod along with the victory reel. Anyone have experience with these?

Have seen the 8' Flippin' stick in action and used it for a limited amount of time.

Seemed like a good stick for their relatively small retail cost.

The reels are too new, don't know how much feedback you will get on those.

I own one rod, it's the 7'6" Carolina rod.  It's actually not a rod that I would fish a C-rig on, but it performs nicely as a mid depth crankbait rod, as well as throwing larger shallow squarebills.

I've fished a couple of the others and they're all too soft for my taste, really, in regards to their intended actions.

Reels- no clue, I'd say they're likely too new.

The Spinnerbait/Worm rod is an excellent Bandit 200/300 rod.  Also shines with a 3/8 or 1/2 oz spinnerbait.

Haven't fished a worm with it and won't.

I dont see myself getting one unless its the 8ft cranking stick. They are a little heavy and I do like the parabolic bend they have but I got 22 rods now and I win a couple more every year so whats the point.

I get where you coming from on the warranty but at that price honestly you cant expect a great warranty.

In comparison to a few

Team All-Star 3 year $80

Mojo 5 year $100

So just getting a lifetime warranty at that price isnt that bad. To me its a question if you like the feel of the rods.

They may not be as hot or look as cool but you cant beat the Shimano Compre rods for that price.

For $200 (what the Reese combo costs)

I'd prefer:

Shimano Citica 200E $100

Shimano Caenan  $90

Cabela's Prodigy  $70 (sick!!!)

BPS Pro Qualifier ($80 if you use the right code)

with a...

Lamiglas Excel (American made and a great rod, I have one.)

Falcon BuCoo

St. Croix Triumph ($50 and basically an uglier Mojo for $30-$50 less)

Abu GarciaVeritas (again $80 with the right coupon)

Closeout Carrot Stix OR Daiwa Cielo from ***.

A Cielo with a Prodigy would suit me just fine...

Unless you're chasing Skeet's autograph, there a bunch of better options at that price point.
