helms83 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 My girlfriend is trying to get me some fishing equipment for my bday. I'm hoping for a new rod and reel. My current setups are: 6'6 Bass Pro Shop Spinning Rod/Reel Combo 6'6 Shimano Convergence Graphite (cvc-66m) Browning Citori (ci10hl0): 6.4 to 1 6'6 Berkley Cherrywood Graphite (cwc661m) Shimano Callisto (CS0-100): 6.2:1 I was thinking of asking for: Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier Baitcast Reel: 5.2:1 I was thinking of this to have a good crankbait reel. Any thoughts? Should I focus on other equipment or setups? Just looking for some advice, thanks! Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 11, 2010 Super User Posted September 11, 2010 Well, that reel is gonna need a dancing partner!! ;D Thats a good gift to ask for, or the BPS Carbonlite or Shimano Citica. The BPS Pro Qualifier is with no doubt in my mind the BEST sub-$100 baitcaster. Also, a few lures and some line for that reel can't hurt : Quote
OHIO Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 That's the best reel for the money. You may also want to take a look at BPS crankin sticks. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Buy her some nice flowers and take her out for pizza. Best advice you'll get. Quote
