bearings and drag washers

I've heard the names Carbontex, Boca, Orange seals.... What are the best bearings and drag washers to upgrade my reels?

Reels are: ch50mg's, Revo STX's and BPS JM Elite sig series.

As far as Revos go, good drags out of the box but it's your call.

I'm gonna get roasted for this one, let me get my asbestos suit on first... but I'm not convinced of the advantage of high $$ bearings; as in does the percieved extra distance justify the cost ? It's not like they're putting junk bearings in them to start with. I think there's somewhat of a placebo effect when it comes to bearing upgrades FOR THE AVERAGE FISHERMAN, not the small percentage who participate in casting contests.

Unless you plan on throwing your baits a long distance such as crankbaits IMO you would best suited to stick with the stock bearings and drags as mentioned above, the newer reels have adequate bearings and drags already in place .Regular reel maintenance will do wonders for your reel. I agree that the stock bearings are just fine in most all reels with proper maintenance.  As for the drag, I just recently bought Carbontex upgrades for my Daiwa Sols, Alphas, and Pixy.  Unlike bearings, they are cheap and easy to install.  I've never had trouble my stock drags but the Daiwas tend to stutter and I have noticed a difference since upgrading.  I wouldn't imagine needing to upgrade the Revo drag, isn't that one of the big selling points?  No experience with the mg but I have found my Patriarchs drag to be more than adequate and I think they're similar to the JM Sig Series but don't hold me to that.

it doesn't neccesarily make them stronger(they are plenty strong enough) but just a lot smoother

i upgraded both the drag and bearings in my citica d and it did make a difference. the bearings are the abec 5's from RM and are pretty cheap compared to the rest. i find myself having to tighten the cast control knob down some since they start up quicker and i maybe gained a few yards. for those particular bearings , i would do it again. now , im not sure how much quality goes up in the bearings on more expensive reels , so they may or may not be worth upgrading in your particular reel.

now the drag , those carbontex are just great. very smooth when greased up and plenty of power. well worth the money.

The carbontex upgrade,  in a shimano atleast,  is nice.  The bearing upgrade would be more noticable if yours were wore down and needed some anyway.
