Super User .dsaavedra. Posted February 9, 2008 Super User Posted February 9, 2008 http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=super_shad_rap&freshorsalt=Fresh anybody ever use one for bass before? i was thinking of getting one in shiner color. they are heavy though, 1 5/8oz. i dont have any rods that capacitate lures that heavy. i could probably get away with lobbing it on my lightning rod. but yeah, how do these fare with bass? Super User Marty Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 I've never used one, but there's little doubt that this would attract bass. After all, its little brothers are outstanding lures. Yes, you could probably lob it with your Lightning Rod, but you don't say what the power of that rod is. This lure comes with 2/0 trebles and you'd need some backbone to get good hooksets a majority of the time, even with razor-sharp hooks. Quote
ILfisherman Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 It's a muskie lure for me, but I have caught some decent bass on it, while muskie fishing Try it's little brother, the Shallow Shad Rap to target bass...its a killer. Quote

detroit1 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 My standard pike/deep crank rig - 5600c4/7'6" mh flipstik,14# line. I was tired of catching dinks, made a cast and thought i had a hit. Made the 2nd cast and it hit hard. 20.5" and 4-12. I still use it every once in a while, maybe i should use it more.. Quote
