Super User Hammer 4 Posted September 4, 2010 Super User Posted September 4, 2010 I looked at a few of the rods you mentioned. I wound up getting the Clarus, due to the warranty. Have to say, IF the dark angel had the same warranty, I likely would have bought it, although I've never handled one. Quote

Red Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 If it were me, I would save a few more bucks and get the Lamiglas Excel. Great warranty, great rod, 100% made in the USA. I have replaced all of my rods in the last month or so with this series, from flippin stick down to a ML. I haven't received the ML yet but the 7' Med got a workout this morning. It is wicked sensitive and very light. Free shipping at *** too. However if you can't swing the extra $30 sounds like the Clarus is the way to go. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted September 4, 2010 Super User Posted September 4, 2010 get a steez rod best money for rod Do you ever read the first post in a thread? Sqhertz, if you've been happy with your Clarus, I don't see any reason why you should swap to something else. Quote
I.rar Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 thanks guys. i was thinking the same thing , but those others caught my eye. the clarus has been nothing but an outstanding rod at its price. Quote
BossHoss Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Yea with fishing stuff...if it ain't broke don't fix it. At best you will get a new rod, not like it, and wish you had gotten the Clarus...At worst you will get something else and like it more. This is bad because you, like all us other alpha male fisherman, will then feel the constant need to replace your other rods with this great new find. This predicament is only fully realized when you go to take the girl out for dinner, or fill the truck up with gas and realize the money needed for these items is sitting in your rod rack. Been there done that... its not pretty Quote

kikstand454 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 and for the record....imho the steez series is the biggest fleecing the fishing industry ever had. they dont seem any nicer or better built than any other high end rod and reel.... yet they are nearly twice as much sometimes. pffffffffffft. after fishing both for two hours... i prefer the cumara to the steez. there i said it.
