Braid cutting guides

Well I have spooled up my quantum tenacity with 30 pound braid and it cut the eye out(the ceramic or plastic piece inside the guide) and Is now fraying my line, Does anyone know what I can do to fix or prevent this from happening?

Replace the line guide with a new, better one.

I've replaced many eyes. What you need to get is this:

-Replacement rod tips

-2 part epoxy

-Torch

Turn the torch on and grab a pair of pliers. Don't touch the torch to your rod, but what you want to do is get it close enough (few inches) to heat up the rod tip, which will then heat up the epoxy/glue thats under it. Use the pliers to pull it off. This will also keep the thread and epoxy under the eye from getting messed up, and will look flawless in the end. Mix up a bit of the two part epoxy. Oh! before this, sand the metal piece the tip sits on on the rod to clean it & prevent slippage. I had to sand mine down to make the tip fit, but once the epoxy is on you cant tell the difference. Now, mix a little box of the epoxy on cardboard or something. Put it on the metal piece sticking out of the rod, put some in the rod guide and put the guide on. Eye ball it. Now, take the rod and look down it from both the reel seat and the tip and line it up with the other guides. Do your best, just make sure youre holding the rod straight lol. Now when it's good, take a bit more of that epoxy and put it over the guide and the rod to fill the seam & create a strong bond. All done! Let it dry a day. Mine's held up to 5 lbers, and its a cheapie shakespeare 5'6" light rod :-). The guide i took off another rod that snapped and it had a stainless steel insert. You should be fine. If you're replacing a rod guide other than the tip, buy some thin braid and buy a guide. Get some superglue, glue the tip of the braid to the rod and start wrapping the guide on. Do the same on both top and bottom of the guide. Then epoxy.

Oh and are we talking about the inserts or the whole metal tip top?

whole tip has to go.  A while back I had a big chunk of one tip inserts shear off for some weird reason. I just took it to my local tackle store and they did all the dirty work for the cost of the new tip.

JB weld should be fine, but i think that comes in black/gray, right? The 5 minute epoxy should be fine. It sets up in 5 minutes, but takes 24 hours to harden fully. And most of them are clear.

Is the guide on the reel or rod damaged?

It is just the top guide. And  I will call my tackle shop later about it.

You don't need to use JB Weld or 5 minute epoxy.  Should the tip get damaged again the use of those will make it way more difficult to remove the top even to the point where it will damage the blank.  Find a stick of tip cement or even a hot glue gun stick and use that.  It's what the tackle shop will use.  If you're unsure about it bring it to your tackle shop.  It's a cheap easy fix.

Hot glue is what I've always used. Works great.

I use 5 min epoxy but any will work OK - the 5 min variety just sets faster so you have less chance of misaligning it while it cures.  You can remove an epoxied tip the same way as one installed with tip or hot melt glue - heat it up.  After having a few tips pop off during fishing, I switched to epoxy.

That's why i recommended epoxy.

My wife bought me a Shimano spinning rod that has no inserts in the guides.

The guides are rounded and smooth but bare metal.

Any rod from Shimano from the Clarus on up the line will and can handle braid just fine..
