Crankhead Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I was watching Roland Martin's show today fishing somewhere in northern Wisconsin with his wife. It looked like they were having a good time. One of the lures they were throwing was a Aruku Shad. I hadn't heard of it before so I went to his website and he had it listed under new products. Just wondering if anyone has tried the Aruku Shad or did it just came out for the 2008 season. I'd like to know if anyone thought it was any different from say the Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap, the Strike King Diamond Shad or Lucky Craft LV series cranks? Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 The Aruku Shad is different than all other lipless cranks due to it's ability to sit nose down on the bottom without laying over. Quote
HesterIsGod Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 The Aruku Shad is different than all other lipless cranks due to it's ability to sit nose down on the bottom without laying over. Really? wow i didnt know that. It must be killer for bedding bass. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 it's been around a few years. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 it can sit nose down? thast neat. i'll have to pick one up in bluegill color and use it on bedding bass. Quote
JT Bagwell Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I watched Dean Rojas using one last week on Toledo Bend grass beds and it seemed to work well for him. JT Bagwell Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 I've been fishing them for three years now. They are my favorite when the fish want it fast. It will hit the water running hard and not turn on it's side no matter how fast I burn it. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted February 10, 2008 Super User Posted February 10, 2008 It probably the best product roland martin endorse. I used it one time before I lost it and it was pretty darn produtive. Quote
Cajun1977 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Gene do you keep the standard hooks on or change them out? Quote
Crankhead Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Which size would be best for fishing deep clear lakes? Quote
deadeye32. Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 If I knew I would have to come back to the boat and listen to Roland's annoying A$$ wife, I would keep my head down and never want to come up Quote
HesterIsGod Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Rolands wife lived in a town called Momence that is about 30 minutes from my house. I have met her a couple of times when I go to a meeting or convention type thing that Roland hosts. He hosts a lot in my area since his wife lived in the area. I know she can be annoying but she is actually a very nice person in real life. Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I like em because you can retrieve the small size slow. I have only one in the color similar to luckycraft's american shad color. I've caught countless numbers of fish on it and still haven't lost it! Quote
SBM-RL Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Answering a previous question- I dont think they need to be changed its a high quality product and I think they use gamakatsu bc i know the bronz eye does. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 12, 2008 Super User Posted February 12, 2008 All SPRO baits feature Gamakatsu hooks. Quote
Black Bass Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Which two or three colors would you start with for bass in stained water? Quote
Crankhead Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 What colors and which size for clear lakes? Quote
Olebiker Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I started using them last year and I am sold on them. They have produced better than any other lipless CB I have used. Quote
