I was watching Roland Martin's show today fishing somewhere in northern Wisconsin with his wife. It looked like they were having a good time. One of the lures they were throwing was a Aruku Shad. I hadn't heard of it before so I went to his website and he had it listed under new products. Just wondering if anyone has tried the Aruku Shad or did it just came out for the 2008 season. I'd like to know if anyone thought it was any different from say the Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap, the Strike King Diamond Shad or Lucky Craft LV series cranks?

The Aruku Shad is different than all other lipless cranks due to it's ability to sit nose down on the bottom without laying over.

I watched Dean Rojas using one last week on Toledo Bend grass beds and it seemed to work well for him.

I've been fishing them for three years now. They are my favorite when the fish want it fast. It will hit the water running hard and not turn on it's side no matter how fast I burn it.

Which size would be best for fishing deep clear lakes?

Rolands wife lived in a town called Momence that is about 30 minutes from my house. I have met her a couple of times when I go to a meeting or convention type thing that Roland hosts. He hosts a lot in my area since his wife lived in the area. I know she can be annoying but she is actually a very nice person in real life.

I like em because you can retrieve the small size slow. I have only one in the color similar to luckycraft's american shad color. I've caught countless numbers of fish on it and still haven't lost it!

Answering a previous question- I dont think they need to be changed its a high quality product and I think they use gamakatsu bc i know the bronz eye does.

I started using them last year and I am sold on them.  They have produced better than any other lipless CB I have used.
