airborne_angler Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 So what is this stuff actually? Is it a Mono a FC or a combination of the 2? Is this stuff any good? I see its made by Rapala of Finland, and that makes me wonder. As of late Rapala have turned out some sub par stuff from what I have read.Like the Storm line of baits went down hill after being acquired by Rapala. And then there the Trigger X products, which I have heard arent so good. So with this Sufix Promix line being made by Rapala... Is it any good? Any first hand accounts of how it performs? The price on this stuff where I found it locally was $5 for a 400yd spool. Price seems good, but hows the quality? Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted August 27, 2010 Super User Posted August 27, 2010 It says it's a monofilament on the label, as for fishing it, I have no idea, never heard of it until you posted. Quote
tbird Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 It is mono and for the price I say go for it , the worst you could do is have a whole lot of line backing for your reels. BTW I used to use the Rapala crankbait line before it was discontinued and I was very pleased with it. T Quote
SDoolittle Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I've used it. It not bad line, but there's nothing special about it either. It's about what you would expect from $5.00 monofilament. Quote
RyneB Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I have it spooled on my cranking rod with a Revo s an my swim jig rod with a Revo s. I have found that it has less stretch than the mono i use an seems to be a little stiffer. My friend asked me the other day how it performed and the best way to describe it is "in between a fc an a mf." Do not put it on a spinning reel though. my cousin needed to borrow some line on a trip an spooled it on his spinning reel an it was unmanageable. I personally love it for what i use it for. Quote
airborne_angler Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 I read somewhere that its a Copolymer line. What does that mean? Quote
