If I'm going to have it ship it back to the manufacturer, I'll just stick with St. Croix. I can exchange it or upgrade to a different model, whether the rod is broken or not.

Heck, I can get a 12 month over the counter replacement on any BPS brand rod. That doesn't make them any more desirable to me.

Cumara's are nice but a tad tip heavy.  I would go for phenix Ultra MBX any day. Warranty is also great.  They even have the option to upgrade.  8-)

I haven't found any of the Cumara's to be tip heavy, other than the 7-11 MHeavy Xfast.  Are you fishing them with a dime size reel with 3 yards of mono on em?   Seriously though, I haven't had thta impression on any of them.

I rigged them side by side w/ Core 100mg. Cumara is a tad tip heavy. You should try to test the phenix rods and you'll know what i'm talking about. Even my buddies who own cumaras and core 100 mg have the same observation when they compared it with the phenix. They did not know it's a tad tip heavy until they got a chance to hold a phenix..

One of my fishing partners has about as many Phenix rods as I do Cumaras and I've fished with most of them. Nice rods but they don't make Cumaras feel tip heavy.

I politely disagree.  The two Phenix rods that I did own were my two least favorite rods.  They didn't feel right at all in my hand, and didn't balance out with a Curado or a Core the way my Cumara's do.

Threads like this are exactly the reason why each person must play around with a rod before they buy it. Not every rod is going to feel the same in a different persons hands. A lot of it will also depend on the reel being used. If you're in the market for a rod, go store fishing with it first. That is one of the benefits of having a big box store around you.
