Super User Hooligan Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 I have the LTB in the same action, but how similar are these two? I want another Senko/Ika rod, and am thinking of the Avid would do it. I remember someone saying that they're a really nice rod for that purpose, but then I also recall someone else saying I wouldn't be happy with the rod for that purpose, based on what the LTB feels like. It's either the Avid or another Cumara. Any advice? Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 I have a 7'MH-F avid but no experience with the LTB. I didn't know they made an XF, wait, I see it's new this year. I like the 7'MH but it feels heavy to me, I've heard others say that too. I would say there is a weight and balance difference between the two. Have you been able to handle the rod? Quote
Hot n Tot Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I use the 7' MH Avid for frogging. I've never handled the MXF Avid, but I'd bet the tip is much softer. My guess is it would make a nice spinnerbait rod. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 24, 2010 Super User Posted August 24, 2010 Take a look at the AVC68MXF, I think you will like it better for soft plastics. 8-) Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted August 25, 2010 Author Super User Posted August 25, 2010 Thanks RW. Now that I think about it, you'd pointed out that same rod for the application in question another time. Quote
