Knots for fluorocarbon

I know people say that A Palomar Knot isnt ideal for Fluorocarbon line.I cant understand this because when people dropshot,isnt this the knot thats normally always tied for the bait?

Ive heard the San Diego Jam Knot is one of the better knots for FC. Its pretty simple to tie,hows it hold up under actual use?

What about the Double San Diego Jam knot? Anyone else use this one with success?

Lastly theres a knot I found on Youtube and it claims to have 100% knot strength. But will it work for FC? anyone know what this knot is called?

I've been using a cinch/clinch knot with my FC, without any troubles.

Be sure to lube the line with some spit before tightening it up.

never used San Diego jam. too hard for me to tie with stiff fluorocarbon. I'll stick with my uni knot its never failed me. Neither has a snelled hook. And you use a Palomar knot when drop shotting because it holds the hook horizontally.

I use the SDJ on cranks and spinnerbaits, Palomar on everything else.

I find it incredibly easy to tie, and quick as well. I do it the same way Alton Jones does the Reverse Clinch Knot in this video, except I pass the tag end back thru the loop at the lure before tying it off.

I've used the San Diego Jam knot for a couple of years now and never had a break-off with fluoro, mono or braid. It's easy to tie and I think one of its strengths is that you can easily see how the knot is going together while you tie it, so if anything goes wrong, you know it immediately. With fluoro, I think various knots that include multiple wraps around the standing line work well because the wraps cushion the line from instantaneous shock.  I'm not 'hung up' on the San Diego knot, I just know I can consistently tie it correctly - and that makes a big difference over time.

I use the Palomar for just about everything.  Never had an issue with it and fluoro.  Lube it up really good before pulling tight.

I always use the Palomar knot, just be sure to moisten it really well before pulling it tight.

I tie a Double Palomar knot with braid and an Improved Clinch knot with everything else. Uni to Uni for all braid to leader connections.

Improved clinch on flouro seems to work the best for me. I lost a big fish on flouro with the Palomar so switched to the improved clinch with no troubles.

I have had some really good luck with the San Diego Jam Knot as well after having a few problems with the Palomar. It's a pretty easy knot to tie and I have found to have as good or better strength than the Palomar knot. There isn't as much friction on the line which I also like.
