Well, I'm no help, because the three you listed are the only ones I use now, but I used to have a Pfleuger President XT that was fine, and I have a friend that loves his KVD Quantum Tour baitcaster.

Muddy is no longer with us, the combined forces of Abu/Shimano/Daiwa have overrun the place.

I own two Pfleuger Presidents and two Trions and they are awesome.  I still say the Trion is the best reel for $100!  I saw them on sale for $59 at Cabelas last week too!!

I can't speak on the Pfleuger reels since I have never owned one but my brother has the one of the presidents and really likes it.

I fish mainly Quantum reels both spinning and baitcasting and have no complaints. I just recently added a Daiwa Baitcaster (Exceler) for cranking and it's a very nice reel. Works great down to 1/4 oz shallow to medium diving crankbaits.

I own one Shimano spinning reel (Sahara) and it's been sitting for awhile. It's a smooth reel but sometimes I haven't closed the bail by hand before cranking and now it doesn't close unless I hand close it. Anyone want a used Sahara... ;)

what ever happened to that guy?  :-?

You'll find there's a very strong "herd" mentality on this board for the various products. Reels/rods/line/breakfast sandwiches/etc...

Whatever did happen to Muddy?  He had a good heart with all the giving to the needy that he did.

When it comes to reels, all I use now is Quantum Tour PT and Energy PT reels. Been using Quantum reels for close to 20 years now, still have some from back then that still work as good as new.

Use to fish some Shimano's back in the days of the Bantum two speed and Speedmaster reels. And also fished with Browning reels of which where made by Quantum back then. They where good reels and both companies still to this day put out good reels, but once I fished a Quantum of which at that time was half the price of a Shimano, I never looked back for I have never had any issues, never had one fail on me and have never any reasons to switch to anything else.

Edit: I take that back I did have one Quantum MG reel that the anti reverse bearing was messed up on, but out of all the Quantum reels I have bought over the years, that's not to bad a track record.

Muddy posts in other forums, however he must be busy either fishing or helping the needy because I haven 't seen him lately, why he left BR ? I have no idea, he had his reasons and I respect his decission.

I have a Pflueger president spinning reel and it has worked for me just fine. I bought it from Senko77 a while back and it is still catching fish.

As for Muddy, he is still around. I just spoke to him the other day. He is doing his own thing and is perfectly content.   ;)

I have a Pflueger Patriarch, Arbor 7430, Supreme 8035, and a couple Medalist fly reels (1492 and 1494). I've also owned a couple Trion GX-7s and an Asaro. Not a single problem with any of them.

As a matter of fact, they're slowly but surely pushing my Shimanos to the back of the pack. When I get the urge to buy a new reel, I look to see what Pflueger has to offer before I look at any other brands.

Ok I have noticed while I have been on this forum that everything is about Daiwa, SHimano and Abu Garcia. I have seen 2 posts about Quantum and Pfleuger reels. Are these lower quality reel or what?

I love the Quantum PT products. IMO, for the money, they are the absolute best value going. I like my curados slightly more, but bang for the buck, I think the Quantum PT is a better deal.

I bought (2) new E760 Energy PTs on EBAY last week for $99. I don't think there is a better deal on a reel than this.

When are they gonna come out?

sometime around September for the Pflueger spinning reel . and some time in Nov./Dec for the Quantum Smoke . i'm saving my $ now for them  ;)

it's just one of those things. about 1.5 years ago, this board talked pfluegers a lot. and, if you go back a few more years before the revo-series, no one was talking about abu garcia. in the past few years, i've owned three quantums and two pfluegers and there were good things about both, but nothing outstanding that separated them from anyone else, especially since both pflueger and quantum seem to charge a price premium compared to abu and shimano. the curious ergonomics on the recent quantums (sideplate bulge and low thumbbar) don't match me well at all and i hate the micro-sized line guides.

Pflueger is all I use and I love all of them. The patriarch is one of the best reels on the market IMO.

With the exception of 4 Curados, the bulk of my older reels are Pflueger and Quantum (PT only) I was never disappointed with either brand and they all worked great. As I had the cash to update I transitioned to another brand you mentioned altogther for casting reels. I've also moved to the higher end Shimano spinning reels. Everything out there has become pretty darn good. Personal preference is more of a driving factor all the time. Always maintain your options and look at everything.
