SJB1226 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 playing with a 3/8oz spinner bait and mono testing sensitivity of the 854C and it wowed me I could feel the blades clacking as I killed the bait and let it fall/helicopter right before the line went totally slack... this rod is MEGA sensitive...I still stick to my guns about fishing more sensitive rods but not by much... you dont need a rod this sensitive it has more feel then 99.8% of rods out there and this is a heavy action rod... I felt the fish at the end of a VERY long cast with 17# Sunline Shooter Defier Nylon Monofilament the fish must have slapped at it because I felt a quick thump and the blades stop and chatter I killed it and BAM she hammered it bite detection was like lightning... I could feel the lure ticking the grass with ease even at the end of the cast with mono (Given its 40 dollar a spool top of the line mono that fishes much like FC but still has enough stretch that it effects feel as all mono does) hook set was rock solid the rod loaded up well and man handles this 2 3/4 to 3 pounder like she was a dink as expected for such a powerful rod.. I have caught 3 more on rage tail space monkeys with a 7/16th oz tungsten pegged sinker 4/0 Owner Wide gap plus hook on the 854C/PX68/20# Sunline shooter combo... one 3# fish and 2 a little over a pound I was pitching holes in heavy matted grass.. its what im going to be doing a lot today Once again bites are detected with ease you can feel strikes even on semi slack line.. you can feel the legs of the space monkeys moving like crazy when you pull the lure fast out of the hole... this is one of few rods I can say that are Sensitive enough to feel that the others are VERY high dollar JDM rods and the Steez Top gun... this thing with braid is gonna be silly sensitive... Its a lot more sensitive then the same model GLX.... It pitches really well and is a very accurate pitching rod that im very impressed with.. it feels very light in hand and very very crisp feeling... tip responds very well on hook set and while fighting/pulling fish out of nasty stuff. so far im happy I brought my Lappy and Wireless network card just so I could talk to you guys while im fishing the rods and let you all know how they preform... I still gotta fish the other two and then the GLX side by side for a fella I promised I would so I can really feel how much more sensitive it is... I will be fishing each rod 3 or so hours a piece today and using all different kinda lures... like lures the rods are meant to handle and ones they arent just to get a real feel what they can do and how they handle! Heres a pick of the girl! caught her in a creek arm on a 700-800 acre lake thats got some monsters in it... I believe ill catch a 7+ today and see how they handle good fish.. I know ill have plenty of 5# fish to play with..this lake is a pitching guys dream lake lol.... I will do some heavy punching mats today to with 1 1/4 to 1 1/2oz weights and punch skirt/4.20 beaver. SJB1226 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 I think I have seen that lake before. If I remember right it's call ullnvrno lake LOLOL now thats hella funny lmao... almost fell of the boat when I read that lmao.. I will tell you its in North east FL and fished very little because my grand pa has the only area of land that you can launch a boat and my and my dads Bass boats are the only ones to be in it! at those apts you see the peeps that live there arent allowed to fish it it has signs all around it over there no fishing or feeding gators allowed or your lease will be terminated!! So for the most part the lakes mine and my dads... I mean the only place that could be fished is the bank around the apts and the rest you is my grand pas land or heavily wooded so more less not fishable.... you could wade it i guess... as long as peeps C&R I wouldnt mind others fishing it. as long as they was my friends and didnt abuse the lake.. I run my Z-9 around it all the time picking up all the trash I see... I really try my best to keep the lake super clean.. one time I seen a dude catching bream at the bank by the apts I took a pic of him and gave it to the office and they told him if he got popped again he was gone... I know they did because he seen me out and ask me was it me that told on him I said yep... I said I wouldnt have told on you if you wasnt keeping them... hes the only person other then my dad that ive ever seen fishing it... I fish it 2 some times 3 times a week...I fish 4-5 days a week all day long some weeks I fish 7 days if I have a sat and sun tourney.. I fish this lake 2 times a week every week some times 3 and I fish other lakes 2 days a week some times 3 and I always pre-fish for one day before every tourney and I fish 3-4 tourneys a month. If you lived close I would take ya there.. as a matter of fact if anyone lives in Orange park/ Jacksonville FL and wants to go out Ill take ya there, rodman, lake gorge.. I got a 2009 Nitro Z-9 DC/250XS... all you have to do is meet me at the ramp or if you live on the way ill pick ya up...no gas money no nothing just show up and fish! if your female ill even buy ya dinner! Im not kidding about taking anyone out that wants to go.. I would love to put anyone that wants to go on fish as long as they are total Catch and release. Also 700-800 acre was a typo its about 400-450 acre's Quote

SJB1226 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 This is crazy I wanted to fish all the rods today... I havent touched anything but the 854C other then testing the 803C for HopelesslyAddicted.. OMG this rod is nice I didnt think I was gonna love it as much as I do this rod is a uber flipping stick....I think I like it more then my 7'1 Compile-X... this is insane it feels like when I first fished my first GLX years ago how good the rod felt and how it fished how I could feel things that I wasnt used to feeling (Now im used to feeling everything tho but you get the picture) I just did a side by side with the BCR803GLX and the NRX 803C... It is noticeably more sensitive (Pixys with 12# Shooter FC, 3/16oz tungsten jig with a rage tail chunk) I could feel the texture of things much more definitely feeling the hard bottom to soft bottom changes was not a test...dragging the lures over logs and feeling the texture of the bark was dull with the GLX but you could still feel it... with the NRX it was like rubbing your hand over it. I put Steez with Daiwa braid on it and left the NRX the same and well the GLX became just over so slightly more sensitive but it still felt dull in comparison to the NRX with FC hard to explain then I put braid on the NRX and it became just a little more sensitive then with FC but the rod gives such a define picture of what the lures touching... then for the reel test! Mono I used Sunline Super Natural Mono... on two Alphas R's and the GLX didnt disappoint like you know and the NRX was amazing with mono I could still fill the texture of the bark on the log fairly good so long as the cast was 35-40 feet once I got it out farther then that I stopped getting that super define feeling of the texture but I could still feel it kinda as where with the GLX I never felt that really define fine on the texture on the log... The NRX is more sensitive with Sunline Super Natural Mono then the GLX is with FC.. you really dont need a rod more sensitive then a GLX that rod gives you easy bite detection and feel of the bottom... the NRX is with ease in the top 3-4 most sensitive rods ive ever fished... those 3-4 are all so sensitive that I just couldnt really tell you witch one is more so. whats odd is this I couldnt feel the legs on a space monkey moving when I pulled it fast with the 803C NRX even with braid however with FC on the 854C I could???? thats a heavier rod and its more sensitive then a lower power rod? that one I cant understand but im not complaining lol I love the 854C Im gonna sale the 893C and buy another 854C probably I havent fished the 893 so im not sure 100% but its gonna have to excel at something to keep it from being sold. Im heading home peeps I will chat when I get home some more. I hope this told you what you wanted to know HopelesslyAddicted!!!! Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted August 18, 2010 Super User Posted August 18, 2010 I can honestly say that I'm jealous. Hope they work out good for you. God I would I could convince myself to drop that kind of money for a rod or two. Quote
Dockhead Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Hmmmm...... Grandpa owns a 500 acre lake...dad "loves" the NRX...you're able to fish 7 days a week... Your last name wouldn't happen to be Loomis would it? ;D Quote
SJB1226 Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 Hmmmm......Grandpa owns a 500 acre lake...dad "loves" the NRX...you're able to fish 7 days a week... Your last name wouldn't happen to be Loomis would it? ;D Lol I wish he owned the lake, then I wouldnt have to worry about anyone in it other then peeps I bring! he just owns the only place you can put a boat in the water... a make shift boat ramp if there ever was one lmao! Life is pretty good right now! Ive taken some pics I just have to resize them and I dont know how to with out making them tiny... any help with that will help me get you guys up some sweet pics of NRX's with JDM Daiwa reel's on them! please help I really wanna show them off! help help help please! I put some time and effort in making these pics perfect to really show off the rods and reels in all there glory lol... I dont want the pics to come out small.. I wish they didnt limit pic size but I guess that would use up a lot of server space... if I cant get it to work ill have my bro in law do it for me.. he resized a lot of my reel pics so I could post them but I have no idea how it did it and still made them full size and perfect quality.. I have a lot more fish caught today to some good ones and one very close to 7# and a Bowfin in the 20lb range lol... that was fun and man if he would have broke my rod I would have cut him in to bits lol... stuck him on a R/T Anaconda 10in red shad. another thing to I didnt miss one fish today!! nor did I have any come unbuttoned!! I didnt count but Ide say I caught 35 today...avg about 3 to 3 1/2lb's. Quote
skey44 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 what about uploading them on a third party photo hosting site and using the code they supply to show them on the site. I use photbucket for other forums, don't know if this one is the same, but then they photos don't have to be on this server. fished my 893C JWR today too... man this thing kicks butt! now I just have to finalize my reel and line combo to add to it. for now I've got the Curado 200e7 with Stren 14# on it. Works fine, but definitely doesn't do the rod justice! Quote
Higginbotham Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Spending that much money on a rod is great and all, but you can have better sensitivity if you just put your finger on the line. Fingers are free mate. Quote
HopelesslyAddicted Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Im heading home peeps I will chat when I get home some more. I hope this told you what you wanted to know HopelesslyAddicted!!!! Yea man it sounds like the real deal. I might have to pick an NRX up. Especially now that I know about the Wildcard warranty. Really when you think about it, as long as you don't break the NRX more than twice, you are getting the same warranty! Free the first time, 100 the second time = 50$ each. And the bottom line is if you break it more than twice the rod sucks! Quote
