WanaBe_Like_IKE Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Why in the world is it on like every single new rod like the Quantum PT, Quantum Smoke and the new Pinnacle tournament series. Do you like them? Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 A lot of people place two fingers ahead of the trigger during retrieve. I like to use that grip to put my index finger on the blank ahead of the reel. By nature, a production rod can't be all things to all people. It boils down to personal preference. I'm sure that if the manufacturers get the impression that the majority want something different they'll react. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted August 16, 2010 Super User Posted August 16, 2010 Because more people, myself included, like it better. Majority Rules. Quote
WanaBe_Like_IKE Posted August 16, 2010 Author Posted August 16, 2010 Do you hold your reels With 2 fingers in front of the trigger and 2 in the back or 3 in front and 1 in back? Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted August 16, 2010 Super User Posted August 16, 2010 My pinky goes on the first finger section, and my ring finger goes on the exposed blank section, Then my middle finger goes on the rod or the bottom of the front of my reel depending on technique, and my pointer wraps around the front of the reel, while my thumb just chills on top 8-) Quote
WanaBe_Like_IKE Posted August 16, 2010 Author Posted August 16, 2010 thats what I do I find it more cofortable to do that tho with out the ACS reel seat Quote
bmadd Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I think the engineer at Fuji who came up with that seat should be hung from his little toes. It's made for people with small hands and fingers. > Quote
adclem Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I like the ACS reel seat, to me it is very comfortable. Later, Quote

BrASSmonkey Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I love the ACS seat as it fits my hand perfectly for how I like to hold the rod and reel. I do not have small hands, nor do I have huge hands. However, I do hold the rod and reel with 3 fingers ahead of the trigger, and it works well for me. Quote

Looks like it to me, I used to hate the ACS reel seat, until I actually used one. It's comfortable to fish, I did notice I have to hold tge rod a tad different but it's not terrible. Quote
