Anyone have one?  Was thinking of getting one.  It is either that or the Curado.  Can get the Revo for 40 less than the Curado but do not want the $$ to be the only reson to get or not get one over the other unless they are basically the same reel.

Kinda sounds like you are talking about the '09 Revo. In that case, get the Curado, but if you can get the '10 Revo for $140, I'd buy two of them before they change their mind! The 2010 STX adds dual braking, and a much better drag, and is one awesome reel. You can't go wrong with either, though.

I picked up two 09's for a hundred bucks a piece, new in box.  I really like them. I haven't found a REVO model I didn't like. The 2010 does have dual cast control and a swept handle but at twice the price the difference in performance is pretty minor.  AWESOME DRAG on this reel !!! I will never slight a Curado.  It's a great reel but the deals on Shimano just aren't out there.

Yeah, it is the '09 but still sounds like a good deal.

Yeah, that is a great reel. I have an '09 as well, and love it.

I have two '09 STX's and a Curado. I prefer the STX. They just feel better in my hands.

The '09 Revo Premier is on sale at Simmons Tackle for $125...not sure if both righties and lefties are available.

I have the 2010 model and I MUCH prefer a Curado. I cant say its bad, its just not what I like.  My Citicas out cast it by the way. I'm hoping I got a lemon and they are not all that way. Also the finish doesn't seem real durable. Just my 2 cents, take it for what its worth.

I would get the sx I feel like its alot better reel for half the price. The stx is just lighter I think

Slightly off....the SX weighs in at 8.89 oz and the STX weighs in at 8.92 oz, and the Premier weighs in at 6.70 oz. These are the '10 model numbers from BPS site.

I have the 09 Premier and STX-HS and I absolutely love both of these reels.  Both are amazingly smooth, and cast a country mile.  I like the drag on the STX a little better than the Premier, but that is only maybe a half a point difference IMO

I brought 3 stx last year i believe it was,i got rid of 2 of them and now regret doing so.

09' STX are a little hard to dial in but once you get it dialed in it's a nice, nice reel!

Hmm, interesting replies so far. I have a couple Curados 200E7s and a 50MG and a new Core 100MG and a

50MG7.

I fished these exclusively last year and I did try a 2009 Revo STX and absolutely hated this reel. Found it very hard to get setup correctly and to keep it setup and changing from one bait to another was always a hassle.

So this year I saw the new 2010 Revo Premier and absolutely loved the way the reel looked so I got one to try out.

Holy cow this reel is AMAZING!! Casts extremely well and is extremely smooth.

So I figured I would try a 2010 STX, not as impressed with this reel so I got rid of it.

So I got a 2010 Revo Sx this weekend. Holy Cow other then it is little heavier then the Premier is casts like nothing I have ever had. Casts light weight baits, under a 1/4oz cast heavier baits 3/8oz and up very very well. Is extremely smooth and the drag is what you expect from a Revo, top notch.

So when I compare these reels to the Curados or my Cores they are right there with them. I feel the SX is better then my Curados but not up to the Cores and the Premier is right there if not ahead of the Cores.

So if I was you I would go with the Curado over the STX and would go with an SX over the Curado or the STX. I would avoid all 2009 Revo reels, but that is juts my opinion, cause I know there are guys on here that just absolutely love theirs. I am just not one of them.

Later, :)

Got two '09 STX's from David P. on this site.  Love 'em.  I use one with braid on a flipping and pitching rig, and the other with 14# fluoro on a deep crank rig.  I'm not unhappy with them at all.

I had 11 Revo STX 2009's, 1 Reevo STX 2010, and I now own 11+ Curado E7's.

Honestly, I think the Revos are better. They were a bit smoother, cast a little further, and had a far superior drag. I swapped mine out as  many of them were older and used, and I had the chance to not spend much money and replace them all for new Curados.

Not a huge difference, and either way you'll be happy, both are good reels, and I don't regret my decision, but I still think the STX's are a bit better.

If you can save $40 , certainly the STX is a better deal.
